  1. So the question is what will the follow up Beastie be? I reckon DrDave could release a series of ten upon the world. And then sneakily add a Completer Beast at the end... flap of turtle, head of goat, tentacle of octopus...
  2. Am I the only delinquent who read the title and pondered what damage I could do with a kilo of silver? Those bars look like they need avoiding by a barge pole length measure. Buy bricks from reputable refiners and from reputable sources is a motto you will not go too far wrong with!
  3. Evri, DHL and DPD are just as good at not delivering the goods is my personal experience the last few weeks. However I will callout FedEx who promised to shift a small box from my Yorkshire hideaway to a strange sheep filled cold place in 3 days. And did. 😊 (and no I didn't mean Wales... more NZ!)
  4. A boating incident related insurance claim waiting to happen... I crashed my swan into a duck house and my Sovs sank without trace!
  5. Leeds MC has piles and piles of unsorted stuff. Not enough people and space to sort it, not enough cages to put it in if it were sorted. Basically forget it 'til 2023. I have a kind work supplier who is doing a 250 mile run in a van to get me stuff. Only way he reckons!
  6. Ah China investment scam! You buy cup and saucer of finest China that turn out to be some cheapo porcelain 🙄
  7. Cartel will need a catchy name. Boating Cartel?
  8. I've been thinking about buying something nice and shiny but the amount of stuff I buy for work that is arriving stupidly late or not at all is just ridiculous at the moment. RM we know why they're having issues. But DHL, DPD and Evri urgently need schooling. Between these they've lost/found/lost/buried 6K of security equipment that I would dearly like to nail onto some buildings.... Grrrrr!!!
  9. It's probably got less scratch marks and bites out of it than RM product...
  10. Well I like my kinky sex aids in plain packaging, mostly so the Postie doesn't try hitting on me! That Tavex packaging looks pretty neat for storing stuff.
  11. ebay will pretty much let you sell anything unless it could kill someone and they could be seen as complicit. So nuclear weapons, CO2 detectors, bad. Knock off Swiss watches, knock off precious metals, knock off pretty much anything good. Seriously, I "know" a chap who peddles replica watches on ebay after acquiring them from a well known online dealer of replica watches: idiots bid them up, he doubles or better his money everytime and the numpties buying give good feedback as they wouldn't know a knock off watch from a lamp shade. Has he been reported? Many times... ebay rather like their 10% of the action!
  12. They've been doing that for years... how good the goodies are I have no idea! Example: https://m.alibaba.com/product/60229414059/Electronic-Gold-Purity-Testing-Machine-Gold.html?s=p
  13. On a serious note I do like to see security measures. Having just spent the evening dismembering some "Swiss" items that go tick tock I can say these Chinese lads are on top of their game! Wonder how long it'll be before the fakers perfect the clever security measure on the coin?
  14. I am not aware of the work of this Mr Pithon of which you speak? 😉
  15. Royal Mint has some competition on the poor quality bullion front:
  16. Bullion doorstops have been discussed before... that Mr Chard suggesting a 5kg bar IIRC. I have a 1kg Umicore bar to prop the lounge door. Enough weight and more easily moved when Mr Vacuum wants to go walkies. Don't think your coin will cut the mustard... unless we're talking doors on a Barbie dolls house? 😉
  17. Well... I think you've paid rather a lot for a pretty paper weight. There are less expensive ways of weighing paper down!
  18. Methylated spirit. Has a nice kick to it. 😛
  19. The Yorkshire bit in me screamed "'ow bluddy much!" If they sell these it proves, not that we need proof, that morons and their money are easily separated. Maybe somebody at t'Mint has calculated the stupidity level of the average punter and deemed this a sure fire way to get a Christmas bonus from boss!
  20. Thread hijack... Those of you buying Tudor Beasts might be interested to know that the premium of a gold 1oz Yale over a Brit is currently £17.43 at Tavex. In my books, the premium is therefore non existent and the Yale will attract a higher price to collectors in the future than the Brit. A buy in my books!
  21. I've had similar BS from lowlife on ebay...
  22. And I was thinking Nosferatu the Vampire had been taking to much of an interest in Her Maj! The only RM product I buy nowadays is Sovereigns as somehow the vast majority seem to get past the sledgehammer and pick axe wielding knuckle dragggers. And when I get a cacky one I move it on...
  23. I've not bought from them since Brexit. Sadly it's just the way it is. No legal way of dodging, you'd have to get into skullduggery and smuggling to avoid. To be fair to these guys they were way ahead of the game and forewarned me about 6 months before Brexit that the sh 1 t would be becoming a close personal acquaintance of Mr Fan!
  24. I read the story, and being a cynic (moi!) suspected fake coins with a fake emperor. Would make a change from fake Sovs...
