Yep their website is still terrible :) on this order of one coin its listed like four times then the other coins taken away to get to the £95 :P

if that makes sense lol...this order was only one coin so whats this all about lol.

I have the same issue, qty 3 instead of 4.  Customer support assures me its just one that was sent out and charged.  It's still on the way.

I was beginning to worry if mine would ever turn up.

I got an email today to say it has been dispatched. In all fairness to RM they must have 1,000’s of orders to dispatch in one go.

I’d wait another day and maybe ring to see where yours is. Did you order on Thursday? I did but only at 12pm so maybe they dispatch in order of order placed.

Haven't seen any email from RM yet... will give them a call if they don't dispatch by today... funny thing is even my 10 Oz greyhound is radio silence...

If you think about the queens beasts the lion was the first and is one of the most popular designs ever. As a first design to a series i think this coin is lacking. I think thats why there’s still gold proofs available. If i do get one it will be gold bullion so will avoid the hype for now but will be a potential gainer should the series gain traction

Agree that the 2016 Lion was an excellent start to the QB series and was the reason I started collecting. The Seymour Panther doesn't do it for me like the Lion.  Should I get a 1Oz silver proof just in case the series gets better....🤔

Given Platinum current relatively modest price, despite VAT, a 10 Oz complete in platinum maybe a decent investment going forward with some considerable patience, much dependant on RM price premium.

10 Oz platinum could be a bit too much for me! 😅  Would be great to have though.

If I were in charge of the mint there would be!  I’m not sure if they will, but if they do I would assume they stick with the same pattern and release it with the 10oz silver.

I'm not collecting the platinum series myself but if there's a completer I will get one!

I’m guessing that the listing was created in preparation for later, and it was bad luck on the part of the Royal Mint that someone found it so quickly 🙂

The 10oz silver and 1oz platinum bullion Greyhounds should be released very soon based on their prior release pattern. I’m watching for them both!

Hmm... yes that could be the case...

Looking forward to completing the set of 10 Oz, but will there be a Completer 10 Oz BU version?

  6. Thanks for sharing! Do you put the coins in a display box? I'm trying to find a box with 45mm capsule slots that fit 8 coins.

Yes, speaking for myself, i removed the plastic wrap. It isn't a collectible significance in my opinion to leave this intact unlike some other series.

When i was buying them i wanted to see the wrap intact but this was to assure myself the coins had not been picked over for grading purposes first. Having got them in the wraps i am now happy to remove them and enjoy them in a display as they should be.

  7. The Victoria sovereign looks too new though?

Not sure if it's just me but i quite like the high relief on the counterfeit coin.....😁

I bought a joblot of fake Victoria sovereigns from Ali Express (for educational purposes) and was shocked at the quality of them - they would have fooled me if they hadn't been twice as thick as real ones and still underweight. Any casual buyer could easily be fooled..

Personally I see no point in paying larger premiums for fractional silver from a stacking/ investing perspective.

In simple terms, what's the point? An oz of silver is cheap, as in the average man can likely afford to buy the odd coin or 25. If you can only afford a quarter oz a month, say, then save your money for 4 months and buy a 1oz coin. If we were talking gold then fractional probably is affordable by many, but a 1oz gold coin a month will be out of reach of a lot of people.

Now if you're talking from a coin collector / hobby point of view then, yes, why not if it floats your boat. Just remember that you're going to lose that premium, or most of it, on resale unless you find a like minded coin collector who wants such a thing.

    Just my 1oz worth ;)

Agree that fractional silver is not the best investment-wise but somehow I am ok to play with my 1/10 or 1/4 Oz coins but my 1 Oz coins I avoid handling at all. Can't stand having visible fingerprints on the bigger coins maybe. 😆

Exactly my own thoughts on this, I also bought the 1/4 Oz set on the secondary market and no discernable problems of any consequence on those.

I have the 1/4 oz set as well from a dealer and I'm thankful it's in good condition.  Would have loved to get the 2 Oz set for the bigger size (expensive though) but reading about the issues here really gave me pause. 😔

The beard hair really seems to be a recurring theme here. Possibly someone using electric shavers at work haha.

Honestly, its sad to see what the RM are becoming now. These would be proof coins so their original argument of maintaining a difference between their bullion and proof varieties is null at this point.

Looking forward to your video BYB :)

I have often wondered the same thing as well.... glad to know I'm not the only one seeing the beard shavings! 😆

Probably the quality of the blanks. My guess would be each version Lion, Bull, Horse etc, are done in a batches and then the die changed for the next one and as blanks are used up are replaced with another batch of different blanks.

Hopefully, someone who works in production could give a better insight.

Since it's happening on both BU and PF coins then I guess it points to the materials (blanks) as the root cause.

Much more of a collectors coin. Investors would run a mile at these premium!

Buy if you like 'em coin!

Stumbled across my local dealer selling the 1/4 oz silver Britannia at a "reasonable" premium (for a fractional silver coin) so I bought a tube of 19.  Not the best investment but fun to handle and play with 😁

My was the same. But my coin was also not ok, but full of milkspots and dust. I hope your coin is ok, but you better check

😱 Horrified to hear about the milkspots - hope you got it resolved.  I'll definitely take a good look at mine.
