Lots of great deals today, wish i was available to buy more stuff. Missed out on some gold coins i wanted for a while now . Got some silver modern coins in pf70 below rrp 😉
  3. The coin that fell down was later picked up, sent to the Royal Mint where it succesfully made it through the QC team, was put in a capsule and a box with a coa and was delivered to a customer who was waiting for 2 months to receive his order. 😆
  4. 2014 by far one of the best RM designs! I have a feeling that this years design might be something very nice. Any idea when it will be released?
  5. it is still available to buy at the Mint for £7 in cupro-nickel bu condition.
  6. how can you tell how many coins are available?
  7. Following the huge success of the first bar in the series, i was wondering when the 2nd bar will be released. anyone with any information?
  8. I agree partially to what you are saying. I am also a collector but i like to grade my coins and to get a pf70 where possible. As you all know how bad the quality is lately with Royal Mint coins, buying more than one increases my chances to get the top pop grade i am after. I will then sell the remaining coins i have at whatever grade they acquire. If some coin is really bad, i will return back to the mint. Making a little profit on the extras is not bad thing. if that makes me a flipper then everyone is a flipper (they just sell after years instead of minutes). I have bought 10-20 year old coins for 5-20 times their release price... The bad thing is if someone is buying many coins with the sole purpose to sell for profit and does not care at all about collecting.
  9. I am 200 in queue. Just got in to see whats going on 😂 doesnt seem to be moving fast today..
  10. Well, i am dissapointed to be honest. i am not a big fan of portraits, i always buy coins for the reverse design so having two faces in one coin is not my cup of tea and i think some people will agree with me. To my eyes, this series will be another failed attempt to extract the last drop of milk of a dying cow by the Royal Mint. Peoples wallets are empty from the last 3-4 huge releases (completer, sovereign proofs 2022, Gothic Crown and platinum Jubilee coins) . In my opinion, they should have taken a break and let peoples wallets recuperate and prepare for the next big thing. This is a no from me.
  11. Cant find it in RM site. Is there any link available please?
  12. Was 950 in queue, i got a gold £5 and 50p, silver 1,2 oz and silver 50p! was suprised to see gold still available. i think both designs will do well in the years to come, especially the £5
  13. This is the ebay sale i am reffering to, but i accept that it could be a fake sale. Here is another earlier sale from coin cabinet, i think a year ago at £59,000. i will edit my initial post with this price since we dont have proof of the exact amount. Please add more coins you are interested in monitoring their prices here. I will be posting price changes every few months so we can monitor changes.
  14. Nope, that is right. Last ebay sale was £90,000 but seller accepted lower offer of around £75,000.
  15. So i think it will be a good idea to predict and monitor the prices of certain coins, to see how they fare in the future and help us all make better choices when buying new coins. I made a list of coins that i am interested in, please feel free to add more. To keep everyone on the same page, all coin prices must be in £ and valued on a pf70 grade. Prices should be calculated at average prices sold on auctions below are latest prices the coins are selling for on 27/12/2021 2019 Gold Una & The Lion 2oz £59,000 2020 Gold Three Graces 2oz £17,500 2021 Gold Completer 1oz £4500 2022 Gold Gothic Crown Arms 2oz N/A 1989 1 sovereign £1900/ 5 sovereign £6500 2002 1 Sovereign £700/ 5 sovereign £3000 2005 1 sovereign £700/ 5 sovereign £3000 2012 1 sovereign £1400/ 5 sovereign £6,500 2016 1 sovereign £950 / 5 sovereign £4,500 2017 1 sovereign £1000 / 5 sovereign £5,500 2022 1 sovereign N/A 2014 Britannia 1oz £7,500 At what price would you be able to purchase each coin above in 2030?
  16. so after showing my sister, my previous great engravers coins and showed her the Gothic crown, she fell in love with the design and decided to do aRoyal Mint account and buy one. I told her what she had to do on release date. * Note: She has only few coins (mostly presents from me) to her collection. So she got in the queue and she had very low number and managed to grab a gold coin 😎 . (Yes thats the first coin she bought from Royal Mint 😭). I guess its newbies luck. Anyways , my question is, will she be offered the next gold coin of the set by the mint? Or does she need to contact them? Or is it offered only to mint marquee members?
  17. If you asked me yesterday I would say no but then i came across this photo today which says one per person so there might be ok as long as it is different name and email. In the past they used to say one per household (which was totally unfair for a house with multiple coin collectors).
  18. Got in early morning and had a very low number. I grabbed one of each 2oz and 5oz silver and a 2oz gold! i hope my order will not be cancelled.🤞 i got extremely lucky. There is no way i could ever afford the gold in secondary market so i am over the moon! Hopefully they will all grade well and stay forever in my collection 🥳 Ps: on the three graces i barely got a 2oz silver, so people who did not do so well, dont get discouraged. Try again next time and you might get better luck 👍
  19. I think that these reverse proof will do very well in the future. £700-800 for these very are coins is a bargain! I think they will probably sell double that in a few years.
  20. I think that charging premiums of over 100-200% on spot price should make them enough profit to be able to hire people to do the Quality control properly. Right now the RM is lacking on two things. Innovation and quality control. The latter is an easy fix. Hire some people with experience to train all the staff in quality department to do their job right. Innovation is another story with much higher expenses. (Milkspots are not easy to fix, alrhough canadian mint claims that they founda way to reduce it). Having said that, the RM has many good features that outweight the bad ones. They got it right with some of their engravers and their designs. They also got it right with the small mintages, although i would prefer to stop releasing a new coin every week. Lasty, some coin series like Queen Beasts and the completer coin, Great Engravers are a big step to the right direction and we thank RM for that! 👏👏 The queueing system, although it lags and might crash the system, is far superior than other mints like Us Mint and the fact that everyone can queue and get a chance to buy the coin at release price is a good thing. Other mints release coins and send the vast majority to coin suppliers and mere mortals like me and you have no chance of buying at the release price.
