  1. I get your thinking on the number of Memorial Sovs minted @refero I also see the logic in many of the counter arguments. I’ve only been stacking/collecting Sovs for a couple of years and thought I had started late missing all the key dates in the modern era which I’m slowly obtaining, I have a gut feeling I could be wrong though. 2022/2023 has been overwhelming with continuous one off designs with what should have just been a platinum jubilee collection. For someone like me with a limited budget in the current climate, it’s been hell in managing finances to be able to afford all these, as I’m sure is the same with many of us if we were fortunate enough with TRM queue system or dealers/resellers etc. Here’s the thing though, we have had a single Monarch for 70 years, unprecedented and it won’t be seen again for a few generations, if ever. Since decimalisation we have had only a single Monarch and we are only now having a new Monarch printed/minted on our currency. This is history in the making with specific designs for these events which I feel will only be in high demand in future years, possibly more so than the preceding key dates/designs. Should there have been a memorial collection, it can be argued. Should there have been so many minted? imho for such an event did they make enough for all who would want/could afford one? I’ve managed to obtain these to-date and hope to also purchase a 2023 Coronation year proof also, mind you that will be it, at least until the next Coronation… It’s wonderful to own these as the current custodian but longer term, it’s a small piece of history to be passed on to the next generation/custodians.

  4. Can't remember who shared their script here to provide credit where it's due but if you save this as a bookmark... I labelled it as The Royal Mint Quantities Available... javascript:(function(){var json = $('div[data-product-settings]').data('product-settings');alert(json.productName %2b '\n' %2b json.sku %2b '\n\n' %2b 'Limited Edition Presentation: ' %2b json.stockSummary.LimitedEditionPresentation %2b '\n\n' %2b 'Total Available: ' %2b json.stockSummary.TotalAvailable %2b '\n' %2b 'Backorder Available Quantity: ' %2b json.stockSummary.BackorderAvailableQuantity %2b '\n' %2b 'Preorder Available Quantity: ' %2b json.stockSummary.PreorderAvailableQuantity %2b '\n' %2b 'Purchase Available Quantity: ' %2b json.stockSummary.PurchaseAvailableQuantity %2b '\n');})(); Once you go to the required product page open this bookmark for figures.

  8. Struck on 2nd June 2012 the first day of the Diamond Jubilee, Mintage: 2,012 Finish: Brilliant Uncirculated Reverse features a modern St George designed by Paul Day
  9. Isn't there also a 2012 SOTD relating to the QE II Diamond Jubilee?
  10. Starting at £1, interesting test of the waters...
  11. Personally, I think that a large part of the reason is that they also cut the mintages on this release. Considering the numbers for the memorial collection and that it didn't sell out before Xmas as expected as well as recent launches seemly a littler flat - although a caveat there is that most still sold out within a few days...
  12. If they took 20 plus the bottom compartment, I would have seriously considered buying for the kids for their 21st b'day's - I can't undertsand why they are only 19?
