  1. Personally, I agree with most of your thoughts here @Leonmarsh The next generation of gold buyers could be a much thinner heard, I'd go as far as to question what will the next generation be able to afford to buy/invest in to improve their lot or that of their kids and so on... If I'm fortunate enough, I don't plan to cash out. I'm hoping it's for my next generation but there's a catch, I'll only match what they can build up. Whilst at home, it's their best opportunity to do this without worrying about the decisions of food, warmth, shelter and making ends meet and to be brutally honest, I don't see them going it alone until I'm close to or hitting retirement myself due to the points you've highlighted. Back to the thread, £1,591 still a very heathy uptick since the weekend...
  2. Quick, phone Harrington & Byrne...
  3. At this rate it's going to be the 1/10th Brit...

  5. Just received a 2011 Sov, thank you @Sh97if (sorry about the cr@ppy photo) That completes 2010-present, now to continue going back in time to complete a date run from offspring #1s birth year... as well as making a start for offspring #2 and #3 - all to stop future arguments 🙄
  6. So, any guesses on spot come Monday. Could we see another ATH incoming?
  7. No, it’s one of a number of areas I’m diversifying into.
  8. Yep, pretty much the same here. Over 30 years banked so far in a db pension, waiting on retirement or redundancy which ever comes first 😂 With so much tied up in the house I’m attempting to diversify into other assets.
  9. Nothing as yet but @LawrenceChardposted an interesting thread on a possible design;
  10. I suspect knee jerk reaction to bank runs/closures in the US.
  11. So... called RM as no sign of the case or money taken from my account? Apparently my card was declined?? I queried this and explained this happened with the last coin, that they had my incorrect details for the continuity and it should have been updated so, they checked. Low and behold the card details hadn't been updated since I last contacted them 🙄 Now to wait a few more days for the case but was informed not to expect the 1o/z Silver until April... I also queried the amount of £99.50 when we signed up for £95.00 per coin. They amended the price but appear to be reluctant to do this for the next in the series 🤔
  12. Make that three... been skint ever since 😆 Well done @BackyardBullion
  13. @SolachesisI just completed the switch to NatWest and got the £200 in less than a week after depositing the min amount. I'm in the process of doing the same with first direct for the £175, basically a free Sovereign 😎 I'm keeping one of the accounts and will switch the other to Lloyds for their free £200 if the offer is still on the table by then. The Mrs has started to do the same...
  14. I'm signed up for the Ag proof set and so far I've been lucky 🙄 I'd love to get an Au 1/4oz bullion set but with all the commemorative Sovs last year and possibly with a Coronation design this year, I'll only be able to back fill the earlier releases - I'm sure by then with a premium so not sure I'll start 😞
  15. Could be an idea for a get together @Bigmarc nothing would be available from the RM for delivery 😁
  16. It'll be worse than Brown selling up UK plc's stash if you ever sell 😆
  17. Bagged a Memorial yesterday when sub 1,500 - helps the average I suppose, being mid month, it was all I could afford. Beans n' toast now and I don't like beans 😆 ...already back up, any idea what caused the blip??
  18. Interesting thread to follow but bu**er me, another one off design to save up for? 😆
