  1. Woo Hoo! Top of the list, what do I win? (asking for a friend)
  2. Flip me, I'm in a meeting for an hour and miss all the action 😆 Edit: Just watch, it'll drop again now...
  3. Yep, small monthly purchases...
  4. I still can't believe that a couple of Sovs I bought in March were @spot per Oz ~£100 apart...
  5. Cash oot? It's not only a hedge but a form of maintaining wealth, for me the aim is to pass it on and not sell if I don't have to.
  6. If it's still available @Darr3nG, message me your PP details 👍
  7. What the actual F... £1,720s!
  8. Duh! forgot about that one... yeah, crazy money for little bits of plastic, I remember buying them for £1.99 a pop with my pocket money. Happy with my vinyl caped ootini though, is as high as I go value wise with my set. Likewise, can't quite believe we're still hovering around £1,700, at least premiums are still down keeping costs similar last year for a Sov.
  9. Wouldn't that be one of the holy grails, a DT Luke, Darth or Ben?
  10. Nope, that one's I'm too Sexy 😆
  11. He's started up the hoover again 😆
  12. Have you done the deed to pay off the mortgage then?
  13. Hope not... still buying 😆
  14. Hi James, welcome aboard! I'd echo what @Petra has said but before jumping in have a browse and get familiar with the forum. I'm a Silver member and think I can honestly say I've saved the membership fee each year in purchases 👍
  15. I've never sold anything per say and try to keep to the cost averaging purchase and keep building up the stack. I have made a few trades with members however for a grail piece (to me), something I couldn't normally afford or something more semi-numismatic which peaks my interest. Generally as a caveat, this is when I know I can build the stack back up relatively quickly so the total Oz's remain or continue to progress...
  16. Kudos for taking this 'poison chalice' up @BackyardBullion I only started buying relatively recently (in the last 2-3 years) like many during lockdown but since going down the rabbit hole.... I've never bought bullion from RM direct and won't, be it new or historic as the premiums are always much higher than the forum or dealers for that matter but I did start buying proof coins... if I ever got lucky in the queue 🙄 I soon found out that modern, allocated stock is generally slightly cheaper than buying direct which I'll never understand and does feels like overpricing. Now if there is a coin or series I want, I'll reach out first to place an order and try to guarantee a purchase. Specifically on historic coins/sets, we all know we can buy these at a fraction of the cost vs. RM with a little patience. I do feel the RM by virtue of their name/brand are taking advantage, more so of new collectors and stackers alike or those with a FOMO or can't wait. The high premiums only puts me off buying direct, it may sound harsh but they're starting to remind me of H&B, will the next step be weekly deals in the post on 'limited' sets at extortionate prices? I understand they are a business to make profit as well as minting/printing our UK currency but can't help wondering how long before they permanently damage their reputation.
  17. Same source as me, nice to have spot on my .xlsx and TSF aligned 😎
  18. Yep, got fed up logging onto their site then before you know it, you have to log on again after making a cuppa as you time out after a minute 🙄 I was on an iPhone 4S until mid last year so didn’t have the choice - family got fed up with me going on about how many they get through vs. my old one so bought me a newer one to shut me up 😆 More important for me though is if they close the next nearest branch, at that point I’m oout.
  19. I'm also currently with Lloyds, have been for years... This may change in the future if they start: a) with the shenanigans @Earthmetal mentions or, b) they close the next 'local' branch (our towns branch was closed a few years back). I opened an account with Nationwide recently, partly for the current account switching deal but also as a back-up if I need to leave Lloyds.
