  1. Stacking/collecting PMs is very new to me, I only started in March although I've always been somewhat interested in PMs somewhere in the back of my head... I've always been a collector, stamps, starwars figures etc. as a kid. I've also been fortunate, always been on the treadmill, working all the hours I can, even holding down a couple of jobs so I could save a deposit for a house back in the day. Years later with marriage, kids, house moves etc. I've always thought I'll never afford PMs but carried on collecting 'stuff'. I've still got my starwars figures and finished a complete run, a couple of toy cars on the drive - my hobbies have just got more expensive ๐Ÿ˜‚ This year, I decided to buy some birth year Britts for the kids, now teenagers then carried on browsing, other silver coins/series, country specific, silver, gold, modern vs. historic, bullion vs. proofs... down the rabbit hole! I found TSF, Youtube, BackyardBullion, 2 is 1 etc. and signed up, decided on my goal (for the kids), setup an .xlsx and buy each month as and when I have any pocket money left over. It's a hobby for me at this stage but I'll standarise monthly purchases to reach my goal to gift it to kids, towards a house depost etc. Anything extra is a bonus, a very rainy day fund.
  2. This little beauty arrived today, my first foray into older Sovereign's but I couldn't resist... 200 next year! I need to consider if it's worth grading, part of me says yes, another part prefers capsules? Sorry for the bad pics, old phone which I refuse to upgrade while it's working ๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. I only started earlier this year but for a numbers of years have always wanted to buy some gold for the kids. Funnily enough I started with silver brits, their birth years then got a few more then realised I could also afford to buy sovereigns. It's more a hobby for me, as and when I have some spare money I'll buy a coin.
  4. Currently I don't have enough coinage to worry about capsules, tubes, slips or ziplock bags. When I do, for Silver it will be tubes whilst Gold, capsules in tubes... unless it all gets lost in a boating accident ๐Ÿคจ
  5. Mildenhall/Beck Row, not too far from me. Perhaps I should also start metal detecting ๐Ÿค”
  6. Not quite as much on coffee here but this and also transport costs (car/train) now go into overpayments on the mortgage whilst what I was spending on smoking is diverted into PMs. I'll be keeping this habit once I go back in the office ๐Ÿ‘
  7. 40th OMG!!! Edit: I'd love to have the money for that kind of purchase but alas, need to cover other outgoings.
  8. Well done @Dougall1 ๐Ÿ‘ I picked up my first Sovereign in mid April... I'll be getting a forth later this month, getting closer to 1oz of the shiny stuff... eek, it's a slippery slope ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. Universal Basic Income to be tested in Wales: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-57120354 Edit: Bother, same story as OP ๐Ÿ™„
  10. Not a blashemer @Shep, that's exactly my thoughts also. Very new to stacking and have a few ounces of silver but I'm currently focused on Sovs due to the premiums, currently aiming at 1 per month. Am I fussed - no as these are to be gifted to the kids, a tube of 25 each would go a nicely towards a deposit later down the line or some other bump in life's road.
