  1. Today I want to show... My newly graded coins! They are expected to arrive tomorrow, so they'll be going on "Today I Received..." then, but I am so excited for these that I can't help myself. Below is a video by @GoldDiggerDave, who was the one to send my coins to NGC in the first place (more comments and feedback on the service later) I hope you enjoy! I recommend you subscribe to Dave and check out his own dealer page for his services! *mods, if I can't post a video or promote a user's service & channel in this section of the forum, please remove my comment *
  2. I think the Pro models can detect that, but don't quote me on it. The standard version only detects metal content/purity up to a certain depth in millimetres. You can use calipers to measure the width and height of the coin to see if it's within standards provided by the mint. On the standard version I own you can seleect different types of pre-loaded and calibrated coin purity ranges such as modern 999 or older 958 (i think) silver britannias. Or pre 1933 US gold coins and modern 22ct gold coins from different countries. Maybe that's what you are talking about. You select the type of coin you want to test, calibrate the sigma and place the coin on/under the sensor. If it falls in the bracket range, it's genuine. If it doesn't you can readjust the coin or turn it around etc to get a positive reading as the standard version isn't 100% reliable.
  3. Approximately £780 (after converting) with shipping included via DPD. Then VAT on top once it arrived in the UK (before delivery). If I'm not mistaken this is the link I used (link from my email/order confirmation): https://zetberg.com/sk/kupit/sigma-metalytics
  4. I bought a Sigma but my smooth brain forgot to analyse the coin! Please have some sleep my bert friend @stefffana and as soon as I get them out again i will post an update 😎✌
  5. @mraamohamed no need to worry. Silver tends to tarnish if it's not polished. Other variables that can cause tarnish are sweat, sulphur (user for giving silver an aged look), some chemicals in the air or place you are storing it and other things. I suspect the reason why your ring worn 24/7 hasn't tarnished is because you use it frequently, so it constantly "polishes itself" with day-to-day use. I also have a 925 sterling band I wear all the time and it hasn't tarnished. However, if you polish the ring you will see a noticeable difference. I recommend you buy some polishing paste or cloth and give it a try before worrying if it's real silver or not Metals such as copper would tarnish green and the type of tarnish you describe seems to be typical of sterling silver. If you could send us a picture, or compare to the one sent previously you should have an idea

    Gold nuggets?

Hi James thanks for the tag! @Oliman please go on my profile and check my recent listings for gold nuggets. I'm no expert but those could be copper nuggets judging by the colour. I could be wrong, and I say this because the nuggets I have for reference are minimum 21.5K and they are clearly bright yellow in colour. I have a gold scratch/testing kit I got for cheap off either ebay or amazon. I would offer to test but if it's copper I dont think the postage would be worth it? EDIT: the cheapest postage is, I think 96p for 2nd class large. I agree with @dicker's comment but I've also got a couple examples of fool's gold with varying colours and it doesn't seem to be that close. Even the "golden" fool's gold has a dull yellowish tinge/colour to them. I suspect it could be copper. It may be very low purity gold or have some gold content within (what looks to be) copper but again, I'm not sure. I hope this comment is of any help 🙏😊
  7. My pleasure Ryan! Happy to see it's being appreciated in good hands! 😁👍
  8. Stunning 1.9g gold nugget from W. Australia. It has white and rose quartz. Love it! 10x pictures taken before placing in the 'envelope'.
  9. That depends. Sovereigns are GCT free. You would have to check the price per gram and compare which one is more expensive. You may find good deals around the forum too. Always good to shop around and compare prices on the forum and bullion dealers
  10. No worries I completely understand! I have to let my bank account recover a bit too haha
  11. BBP got them in stock if I'm not mistaken for £202 I think
  12. Price £310.40 Gold @ Spot for £48.50/g Coin has 5.8g pure gold content, or 5.8g * £48.5 = £281.30 worth of gold. To find the premium over spot you do: ( £310.40 / £281.30 ) - 1 = 0.1034, or 10.34% premium over spot
  13. Hi Divmad, check out @sellerstacker, who's got some pre1920 scrap coins on sale always at reasonable prices
  14. I bought this model, new. Had to pay VAT when it entered the UK: https://www.sigma-verifiers.com/en/buy/original-precious-metal-verifier I don't know what they use in Pawn Stars.
  15. All sellers here have a reputation to maintain (including myself as seller), so if you were to buy on here I recommend buying from members with a Silver/Gold/Platinum or Business Membership. I've been on here for a little over a year and haven't heard of any fake bullion being sold on the forum. I personally use a Sigma PMV to test my bullion but that's quite an investment for a starting stacker. @BackyardBullion offers a service for verifying bullion. If I'm not mistaken it costs 2% of the trade value + postage from him to you. He's an established member w/ a YouTube channel, well known within the community.
  16. My pleasure to be of assistance! And I am extremely happy the coins I sold you have gone to someone who appreciates their history! Welcome to the forum, may we do much more reasonably priced business in the future!
  17. @Leonmarsh might be either interested or able to help
  18. You could bypass dealers and post a "wanted" ad on the forum, specifying how much you'd pay per ounce and if anyone is selling the quantity you'd like to buy, you can transfer the money directly to the person. You can ask for offers but I believe a price on the ad is necessary. You could probably fetch a better price per ounce as there are sellers on here which sell at reasonable prices/premiums over spot. In this instance you don't have to provide documents to the seller, only your name and address for coins to be posted to, and make payment to the sellers bank account. If the seller is local you may be able to collect in person.
  19. Hi @very452001 I'm selling a bullion 1oz 2021 Gold Britannia on the forum, £1450 with free insured Special Delivery postage. Check it out!
  20. Welcome to TSF Ryan! You'll find lots of stuff here - hopefully to your liking!
