Top 5 steps imho to get a quick grasp on the crazy world of metals. 
1) look into a membership on here £6 and month, you have access to all and see new sales right away ( currently takes 3 days and all the good stuff is long gone)
2) get active, get involved in discussions. Ask questions, watch other people's buying habits and what sells quickest. Remember there's no stupid questions, just ignorant answers. Thankfully most are very helpful on here.
3) set a budget and stick to it, don't try to time the market, and certainly don't buy because of FOMO
4) go for a healthy mixture of both gold and silver 
5) always keep an exit strategy in mind, life can be weird at times, so try to remain liquid.

No, but it works. Try leaving an encapsulated coin on top of a washing machine. It works best with larger coins like 5-sovereigns  

I just now realize how similar the 2002 sov design is to the Vic shields. I guess what makes it look rather different is that the 2002 doesn't have the writing all along the edge. Overall it looks less intricate than the old ones, to me at least.

Four coin sets are rarer.  Better, yeah?

My 4 coin set arrived from the Royal Mint.  A couple of quick pics.  Will check them out carefully, and do some higher quality pics later.



 

So the madness has begun, first silver coin has arrived, did you know that this time 10 years ago the spot price foe silver was higher than today? I wonder what the premium was like then?

Last but not least... haven't checked properly yet as I've had a great delivery morning ( and not looking to be in a bad mood 🤣)
First impression.. packaging has improved. Sovereign box absolutely stinks..so it's literally not long been lacquered.
Coins are not even facing the right orientation, so obviously been rushed.
Will take a better look tomorrow, but impressed so far. Surprisingly the smaller coins hold/show the details very well. It's a busy coin for sure,but one that should grow on us!
