  1. Harry Dent reminds me of our very own @Wonger ! Forever a pessimist on gold and never gets his forecast right. You may as well follow Wonger 😁
  2. Welcome to the forum. This question has been asked a number of times. Some considers 100 ounces to be a good amount for newbies. Others say 500 ounces or even 1,000 ounces. But I'm pretty sure there are members on the forum with much bigger stack and enough to sink a boat ! (You'll get the joke if you stick around long enough). I'd say it is whatever you're comfortable with and your budget allows. Rather than starting a new thread, perhaps you could join in the conversation on an existing thread below.
  3. .....probably because I bought 2 more ounces after you ! I thought I bought the dip as well ! 🙄
  4. Over the last 30 days in GBP terms, silver is down by 10.5% and gold down by just 0.04% ! It's not all that bad for stackers in the UK.
  5. I think without any other hallmarks it'll be difficult to tell the year it was made. It's probably easier for someone to identify the age of the shark than the year of manufacture. 😬
  6. You are opening a debate that could warrant a separate thread discussing the difference between Bullion and Brilliant Uncirculated gold coins. 😉 For me, the Perth Mint that produces the Kangaroos and the Chinese Mint that produces the Pandas gold coins are far superior in quality of finish than the humble RM gold Britannia. The Kangaroos and Pandas are both sold as bullion in BUNC finish. Where I am, both of the new coins are similarly priced as the Britannia. I suspect you can guess which ones I buy ! Perhaps, it is RM's way to explain away their inferior quality of finish when compared with other mint products. 😬
  7. The question was ........ World Bullion coins, what is out there ? 😎
  8. It looks a bit dull and boring though, not at all aesthetically pleasing ! But it's whatever floats your boat. Sharps Pixley is an established bullion dealer in London. I have purchased from them and did not have a problem.
  9. A few click of the mouse found the Cambodia Tiger and the Papua New Guinea 1oz Gold coins. Both with a mintage of 100 and needless to say ALL SOLD !
  10. There's also the Bhutan 1oz gold Lunar series, the 1oz Rwanda Gold BU Coins (the lunar series, the African animal series, the Nautical series etc) and the 1oz Germania .9999 BU Gold Coins. Members here are probably more aware of their silver Germania coins. Moreover, since 2016 the South Korean mint, KOMSCO has released various gold bullion medal series, “Korean Tiger”, “Chiwoo Cheonwang”, “ZI:SIN” and “K Series”.
  11. Last year Laos minted the Tiger (Panthera Tigris) 1oz .999 Gold BU Coin. It is a bit expensive though (about £300 more than a standard 1oz gold coin) with a mintage of 100.
  12. Hello! Welcome to the forum
  13. An oversized gold ring ! 😬
  14. The GBP is tanking. The current exchange rate is 1.23 against USD. If it drops further, then even at $1800 could still well be £1500 !! 🙄
  15. Personally, I wouldn't bother buying proof gold coins unless the mark-up is low and close to the price of bullion. Gold is already expensive and it makes no sense to me to pay a high premium on top when in most cases you're unlikely to see a return come resell.
  16. Hello! Welcome to the forum.
  17. But at least you got good viewing pleasure out of your VHS recorder and should have recorded some of your favourite TV programs. It would have been boring watching a sovereign for all those years ! 😁
  18. Not a surprise to see it sold out when it was 98% of spot price. I wonder if they will honour it !! 🤔
  19. Hello! Welcome to the forum. Collecting those shiny pieces can be addictive but worthwhile. Enjoy the journey !
  20. Hello! Welcome to the forum 🤗
