Being the Royal Mint, it's probably Quality Craftsmanship let down by Quite Careless, Quirky Control followed by a Quick Change of direction with its Questionable Childlike designed products. Whatever happened to the bullion Lunar Series I hear you ask ! 🙄

I would remove the Una from the soft plastic OMP and store it in air tight capsule. Three out of five of my 10oz Una bars had tarnished by leaving them in OMP. I wished I had source the air tight capsules sooner.

Not a sovereign but the portrait looks horrid to me. RM even have them in different gold alloys.

I can't think why 9.57g is used either. I thought about the old weight and measurement in stone / pound / ounces ( Avoirdupois). An ounce is 28.35g. So 9.57g is 0.3376 ounce). Close enough to 1/3 of an ounce but no cigars ! (For the coin to be 1/3 of an ounce, it would have to weigh 9.45g). Perhaps it's a cultural thing. Muslims likes the number 786 and the Chinese likes the number 8. I would dearly like to know as I do find it intriguing !

Ordered a couple of kilo silver bars 2 weeks ago and picked them up yesterday. Thought it was a good time to buy as the spot price dipped below USD23 and silver / gold ratio above 84. Sod's law, it dipped again after I placed the order. 🙄

Have a look on ebay on the coins sold at auction and compare the condition to yours.
