Royal Mail PO Box alternatives

Recommended Posts

Afternoon fellow TSF members. Am toying with a PO Box but wondering if anyone uses an alternative to RM PO Box service? £330/£390 a year seems a little steep but reluctant to use other providers for fear of being duped so figured I’d ask here to see if others use something similar or can maybe share why not to etc. Thanks all

Try mailboxes etc. they are not everywhere tho. but I honestly I don’t think that much cheaper.

I'm lucky as a RM employee i get all my stuff delivered to the office , so an unofficial Post box. I only seem to have problems with firms and credit cards who insist posting to billing address.  Why not have your post delivered to your work address if they allow ?

Alas work from home also. Thinking it’s worth doing via RM anyway

A lot of places insist on delivery address matching payment card address 😮🤔

To be honest, it’s more just for buying 2nd hand from here and FB sites. Happy to keep an address with Atkinsons, Tavex etc but would rather not give out to ‘randoms’ any longer

I can understand where your coming from, but on the other hand,if I'm being honest,I personally would be a bit dubious about posting pm's to just a p.o. box address.

A lot of business sellers on here use a PO Box so maybe they can provide more details on this matter? I would be fine posting to a PO Box as long as the item is tracked. I don't risk anything below SD for precious metals. I'm no expert but RM sounds the best bet.

I had a mailbox for a business, which cost less than a PO box. Had limitations on what would be received and was a few miles drive from my house.

The address was 'better' (from a senders POV) but still obviously not just a residential property.

To be honest I always have gold sent SD anyway so should reassure any seller of my authenticity with regards delivery

How does special delivery work to a P.O Box?

I suggest that unless someone who works for the Post Office on here replies to this then you Google your question as you will see different answers to your question depending on area and other issues.

Agreed, can’t find a straight answer hoping someone with a P.O Box can chime in.
