A British auctioneer who was at the centre of a BBC investigation has pleaded guilty at a New York court to a series of charges in connection with unlawful sales of rare ancient coins.

There has always been a trade in illegal antiquities, it’s annoying.  Many of the relics need to be in museums for us all to see.

I suspect that there are a lot of Syrian / Iraqi, Afghan, Egyptian relics, gold and coins floating around post war and available for a lot of money.

I think the UK antiquities world is getting quite the kicking right now.
