My 1st ever proof coin - is this acceptable?

Hi, just seeking some opinions on whether this is acceptable on a proof coin or whether I should send it back.

This is a 2023 Proof Silver 1oz Tudor Beasts Yale of Beaufort.  The pictures are 1 normal picture straight on plus 3 macro shots from left, above and right sides.

Very simple to return, and its what i would do (and have done previously).

A proof coin needs to be as perfect as they come, thats the idea after all. So the blemish shouldn't accepted. When you get to a stage where you might want to move it on, the next buyer will definately take it into account.

Generally I think the RM standards are poor in a lot of instances. They bang them out and accept some will get returned, and then sent out to some other punter.

I often wondered what happens to the returns? I'm guessing you're right and they do get sent out again.

I can't help thinking that if they brought back the practice of beheading the Master of the Mint that RM's quality standards might take a sharpish uptick.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Many thanks for all the helpful, interesting and informative responses 🙂

I have just packaged it up ready to put it in the post this evening.  I'm not going to mess about trying to get a replacement so it is just a straight return for a refund.

Don't think I'll bother with proof coins any more 😂

Recycled Proofs.

Why go to the bother of stamping out another @#£%&% coin when you can send the next punter one you made earlier.
