Guess the grade

I had forgot about this coin I had and at some point I will probably get graded as I got it very cheap.

what I want from you lovely people is to see if we can come to a round about guess on what grade it will get.

It is a 1907 V nickel, nothing too special but compared to how I normally see them it is abit of a beauty.

so I think it is a high AU maybe 55-58 I could be completely wrong as I’m learning…. Would love peoples opinion 😁

I would grade the capsule XF+, but can't speak for the coin, as it is hard to see much of it through the plastic.

I use Adobe Photoshop, but I am sure there are many easy, free solutions.

Not a slur, rather a feature rich open source alternative to Photoshop.

Extra Fine into Almost Uncirculated grade I would say from what can be seen.

I tried Gimp, and found it almost impossible to use!

If you’re using your phone, see if there’s a ‘Macro’ mode - should let you get closer to the coin and still focus on it. I have an average Android phone, and still allows me to get some nice sharp images of coins… e.g.

No we cannot, trying to compare with ngc stock photos and looks pretty close to a 58 maybe 55 unless I’m missing something, if I do send in for grading it will probably come back cleaned anyway 😭

It's possibly not as intuitive as Photoshop and I will confess to getting frustrated with it. But then I get frustrated with a lot of software so that's likely my fault 🙃
