How to collect every sovereign ?

I find the privy marks don't show up as well on sovereigns as other coins, purely because the coins are tiny in the first place and I have to really squint my eyes to see them.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the Royal Mint churning out a marginally different proof sovereign design each year I can easily see the intrinsic gold value going up so much in the next 10 years that it would comfortably pay off any premiums the Royal Mint is currently placing on them.

I agree about privy marks on Sovs, but at the same time collectors DO care, and this is the only modern Proof that I know of that has one. There are many things about grading that I don't like, but this one comes back labelled as Sapphire Coronation. It's the only proof Sov (so far) that recognises a milestone of QEII without being a special reverse.

That said, the 19, 20, and 21 will be just as important in a date run, so that's why I say (without looking at mintages) that these are currently where the opportunity lays, being still at what I consider to be reasonable prices :)

For intrinsic gold value, i think the last good deals were a few years ago (2019 or 2020?). But, you are absolutely spot on imvho :) The 2016s - 2018s at least were very reasonable buys compared to spot price today!

Is there a double sovereign version of the link you gave me @LawrenceChard

Yes, but it's not quite as clean and easy as the sovereigns one:

https://taxfreegold.co.uk/twopoundsindx.html

Only goes up to 2013, and also includes some gold £2 coins which are not double sovereigns.

Hopefully, it should fo the job for you though.
