Sovereign vs Britannia vs Krugerrand

Hi all. Bought a few sovereigns earlier this year (before I even realised stacking was a thing) and have bought a little silver recently too. Looking to stack for 10-20 years all being well and would like your advice on whether sovereigns, britannias or krugerrand were the best item to purchase, or if there’s really any difference at all as it’s all gold at the end of the day. Picked those items as that’s the likely fund levels I’ll have available each month or two. Would welcome any opinions you might have. Thanks all, JamesH

Hi, JamesH,

If you have started with sovereigns, just continue with sovereigns. Here in UK, it is the easiest way to stack gold at low premium and they are very easy to sell them in minutes at the right price when you will decide to do it.

Also, they are well known and recognised everywhere around the world, so if in the future you will decide to move in another country, is easy to liquidate your stack.

Happy stacking!🤗

Stefan.

As in uk and if planning a large stack over 20 years, make sure the bulk of it is CGT free coins, sovereigns/britannias/other royal mint variants etc.

Sovereigns will have the lowest premium usually in smaller denominations, but on here you can sometimes grab a 1oz gold coin for even less premium.

All depends on budget and where you buy from, and make sure to treat yourself now and again with something you like, boredom will set in otherwise.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Yep. It is true.

At James, for example, the boredom is coming three days after any purchase.🤗

He is treating himself every day with minimum ten gold coins and in few days are again for sale on forum.

Boredom...boredom...boredom...boredom...
