1838 Coronation Medal - Oddities

Good evening all

I saw this medal for sale at a local auction house.  Well, I was mailed about it and looked online.

I have seen one of these before in person and it looked….different.

I don’t think it is counterfeit but it looks significantly different from the one I have seen before (colour and detail).

Perhaps cleaned? Or are the photos from the auction house just terrible (for the 35.34pct premium…

Best

We had an ex-mount one in a few years ago.

Our photos look better than the c**p ones that CHEFFINS of Cambridge have taken, although they are better than many I have seen.

If it's worth £12,950 we sold ours too cheap, even with the 4 mounting holes!

Yes, the color seems weird, it looks like a gilded or cleaned one without going through details.  However, colors in pictures are not reliable for judgement as it is affected by lights, backgrounds etc. Better to have a look in person.
