Coin Jewellery - Tradition, Quality, Fashion or Bling?

I wonder what most TSF members think about coins, including gold sovereigns as jewellery, or jewelry as our American friends would call it?

I have seen a lot of it in my time, often as scrap or secondhand:

Some of it is more tasteful than others.

I read just recently that Lewis Hamilton had been given notice to stop wearing jewellery when racing.

"I couldn't get any more jewellery on today," he said, adding that he felt the clampdown was almost a backward step at a time when the sport and governing FIA should be focused on its latest big breakthrough in America.

"This is such a small thing," he said. "It seems unnecessary for us to get into this spat."

Asked what the solution might be to an apparent impasse, Hamilton indicated there was only so much he could do.

"I can't remove at least two of them," he said. "One I can't really explain where it is.

"But what I can say is it's platinum that I have, so it's non-magnetic, it's never been a safety issue in the past. I've had in 16 years so many MRI scans and not had to take out the platinum."

Let me put forward my case:

When worn like Holly great.

When worn (like this monstrosity) by a member of the “Unofficial caravan club of the U.K.”   Not so much.

Childish attitude.

It's not that it's magnetic Lewis, the brolly dollies say it's a choking hazard.

😇

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live, and It's  Britannia, with one t and two n's.

Wasn’t it classed as a “chavvy” situation when wearing gold sovereign rings and chains ? Lol. Like that dude that won the lottery and lost it all .

It's a no from me can't stand the stuff. Small tasteful pieces ok but larger pieces and tiaras just seem so old fashion now.

Agood watch is classy. I seem to remember perth mint and others making jewellery, even then a bit naff.
