Do 2010 sovereigns hold a premium over 2020 sovereigns?

Hey stackers/collectors,

Hope you’re all well, I’m new to gold and my aim is just to stack sovereigns and to resist as much as possible all the pretty, shiny, beautiful looking designs that are out there, but I just had a question about the dates marked on sovereigns. I have a few 2020s and a few 2010s sovereigns and I was wondering if the date of minting makes any difference to a sovereigns value?

And lastly, what gives a sovereign “uncirculated” status? I would have thought all sovereigns (after 1970s ish) are considered “uncirculated” seeing as we don’t use them as a form of payment?

Looking forward to being educated!

This video may help a bit:

We stackers and collectors use the terminology " uncirculated" to mean it hasn't been passed from pillar to post.
Either the coin is brand new or has been kept in a protective sleeve or capsule and not handled or kept in your pocket with a bunch of keys and other coins.

The last sovereign to be used as a form of currency was in 1914.

So technically 1914 was the last year the sovereign was a circulated currency coin and worth just £1 which was much more than £1 is worth today.

£1 in 1914 was worth approx £118 as of 2020 according to of BOE inflation calculator. However a gold sovereign is worth much more than £118 today.
