Packaging

Hi All,

Apologies in advance if this is incorrectly located or has been answered elsewhere (I have consulted with the User Guides and can't seem to locate it).

My question is, what is the best way to wrap a tube of bullion.

For example, if I was posting a set of 25 Silver Maples, what is the best way to wrap them?  Would I wrap tube in bubble wrap and use something like this:

https://www.ukpackaging.com/cardboard-boxes/postal-boxes/brown-postal-boxes

Sorry again if this is a really stupid question, just don't want anything to go wrong with my first sale and am prepping in advance of creating post.

Thanks in advance.

Hi SamsonDD, I have moved this topic to the 'General Precious Metals' section so that other members can answer your question :)

I would usually wrap in bubble wrap, you may wish to also include some foam or bubble wrap inside the tube and tape it down so the coins do not rattle around whilst in transit. I would then put this into one Jiffy bag and then put this Jiffy bag inside a larger Jiffy bag for extra protection.

My posts are my personal opinions, they do not constitute advice or financial advice.

Dvd cases are excellent for sending gold coins small amounts of silver ( dvds are out dated so no one wants them) so no one pays them any attention 😏 as for whole tubes pack any space in the tube with foam stops the coins rattling around and as said before add some card tape down and multiple bags in bags. You can always write the address on an internal bag incase the external bag gets lost

The above is great advice. I purchased a tube of RM coins and the sender sent it to me in a very thick cardboard tube  with the RM tube wrapped in bubble wrap.  This worked especially well.

Buy something from @Paul, and you'll see how to do it properly! :D

In six years, I've never had poor packaging from a forum member. I think this is because they understand the standards PM stackers/collectors expect and are willing to go the extra mile.

There's no such thing as too much bubble wrap :D

*ebay on the other hand...

ps. really like the DVD idea 👍
