🔎 You Can’t Fake This! Can MintID’s Trackable Silver Bullion Be the Most Secure Bullion of 2020?🔒

Recommended Posts

Bullion Exchanges is very excited to present to you the brand new, MintID Silver Bullion Line! MintID was founded by Corey Maita who set out to better guarantee precious metals products for investors. Seeing as not everyone is an expert on identifying counterfeits, Maita went above and beyond to secure his line of silver with something brand new in the bullion world: a “Near-Fields Communications” (NFC) Microchip. The MintID tamperproof  AES-128 bit encryption microchips meet the “Advanced Encryption Standard” (AES), making it US government-approved technology since 2002. The MintID encrypted microchips link the physical bullion to a cloud-based digital identity with detailed information about your product and its history. Many precious metals bars use bar codes to help secure and identify original products. But, MintID chips are even more secure than UPC codes, QR codes, or bar codes since copying, cloning, or removing them is impossible without damaging the microchip. This NFC microchip can be scanned by any iOS or Android cellphone through the free MintID application. Once you open the application and scan the tag, you should be able to see the history of the product about when and where it was scanned and more! This way, you can always track your bullion and determine if there was any unusual scan that could threaten the security of your product. The NFC tag is applied to bullion directly in the facility of production.

The information you’ll find in the application will state:

  • If the product’s microchip, and/or cryo tamper tag for their bullion rounds, was at all tampered with
  • The real-time authentication of your products
  • The specifications of your products
  • How to sell and receive quotes through the app from MintID approved dealers. You can also purchase directly from the app through one of MintID’s authorized retailers

If it means that each bullion coin comes with a small microchip that can be scanned then this is a horrible idea as it would open up possibilities to exploit this to strip away even more privacy and liberty. While it may enhance the security of the bullion, it comes at a cost that will probably be a lot higher than what is first realized.

Once you open the application and scan the tag, you should be able to see the history of the product about when and where it was scanned and more!

Now if someone bought this and passed it on could the new owner know the location of the previous owner? I'd avoid these like the plague if that was the case.

But that’s a contradiction surely?

you should be able to see the history of the product about when and where it was scanned.

The new owner would be able to see the history of previous scanned checks and the location, would only be the case on the secondary market as in second hand from Ebay not direct from a dealer. I wouldn't mind seeing what an owner would have on their screen of the full access they have with this.

Hi everyone, thanks for your questions! We reached out to the founder of MintID. Here's what he said:

MintID products were simply built to deter counterfeiters from counterfeiting MintID products. Unlike other silver minted products, MintID products are all digitally unique and equipped with tamper detecting tags that will either self destruct or render a tampered result when tampered. Unlike other anti-counterfeiting measures such as serial numbers, UV inks, and QR codes, MintID products cannot be cloned as we encrypt each MintID product with AES-128 encryption on a locked NFC chip.

MintID does indeed register your scans to the MintID product authenticated when a user account is created. This does not mean that MintID is “Geo-Tracking” your silver purchase. The MintID app is used to decrypt the provisioned AES-128 bit encryption via our cloud service to authenticate the MintID product as Genuine or Tampered. To take our customers' anonymity a step further we have developed the SCAN AS GUEST feature that requires no customer information and is once again used only to decrypt the AES-128 bit encryption provisioned to each chip.

We hope this clarifies your questions. For more information we recommend you check out their website, and feel free to reach out to MintID directly!

Welcome to the site/forum.

I actually watched a video (had to dig it up HERE) where with little effort they were able to remove the seal off the tube w/o breaking the loop. Now obviously there was damage to the outer tube but the thought process was that maybe some heat or other methods could be used to remove the coins from the tube w/o effecting the outer tube. Then replace it with similarly weighted items.

So now you have the dilemma of is what is in the sealed tube w/o breaking the seal to check. A better solution/suggestion is to have the band wrap all the way around the tube as a solid unbreakable line.

Or remove the authentication method on the tube if there is no way to 100% validate what is in the tube is actually in the tube.

Thoughts?

Was it SilverSeeker?

I remember seeing the coins for under $20/oz and passed because security is cool, but so is privacy.

Anyway, maybe some day I will use my Bullionaire points on BullionExchanges.

Yeah I linked it up there on the word HERE. I understand the security (Ive been doing network/C&A/A&A for a bit now) but I just cant make myself pay for it when if I sell (or buy) it will be from a large reputable source and or I will insist on it being tested by other methods.

I mean the good thing is if it catches on maybe the PM Testers will go down in price... :D

Hey can I PM you?
