Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.

I am starting to learn about silver (and gold) as protections against economic downturns.

Are there any recommended threads on this that are good and up to date to read?

i think @Kman made an advice thread.

Always cast your vote - Spoil your ballot slip. Put 'Spoilt Ballot - I do not consent.' These votes are counted. If you do not do this you are consenting to the tyranny. None of them are fit for purpose.
A tyranny relies on propaganda and force. Once the propaganda fails all that's left is force.

The usual starting advice is get a bit of gold for a start (not silver). Nothing fancy. Get sovereigns and half sovereigns. The premiums tend to be lower with these coins, there is no VAT and no tax when you sell.

i would steer clear of ebay - there is too much fake stuff on there and if you were new you are more likely to get caught out.

Historically silver is cheap compared to gold but there are much higher premiums (the cost of the coin over the value of the metal) and in the UK there is VAT.

i would not touch gold bars - too many fakes.

So get a few coins - get a feel from this game and then take it from there.

I would suggest watching" The Money Masters" and "The Secret of Oz" by Bill Still

Also Mike Maloneys series "the hidden secrets of money" (this ones a bit more modern and well produced)

There's also a good Mike Maloney presentation "the case for $20,000 oz Gold" - maybe this one (linked last) is what you're looking for

and there's a link in signature to a help thread

Read the United States Constitution. Then Thomas Jeffersons material on Banking (particularly Bank of England). After that, watch Mike Maloneys youtube videos which detail the modern banking system as it exposes the theft on taxpayers. After that, if you are living in the UK please look up The City of London Corporation and its role with the Bank of England.

By then you should have at least the brief knowledge of where little guys like us stand in the face of banking gangsterism.

Another layer to look into is the Bank of International Settlements, the Vatican and Agenda 21.

Welcome aboard TSF  - best place to be, for knowledge , advice and fun in the PM world

As many others above have made mention -

I totally agree with understanding Mike Maloney's "hidden secrets of money" -you'll understand HOW we got where we ARE! for starters 😉

"homegrown" stuff recently put on the forum -  I would point you at the link below, as it is quite a good starting point and is what you asked for! IMHO
