Fascinating to see money going from bitcoin to gold. The iran strike was a massive investment/trade opportunity.

Iran have just announced that their action 'can be deemed concluded' against israel as a retaliation allowed by UN charter because of Israel's attack on their embassy in Syria. It's probably not going to escalate (unless Israel go nuts). As I guessed earlier - a bounded performative action.

America can't let the price of oil be dictated by this right now.

BTC is a risk-ON asset
Gold is a risk-OFF asset
I'll take the blood pressure meds after this comment but BTC is not digital gold or anything close to it
The crypto action over the weekend is concerning though from a gold POV as there has been a correlation between cryptos and metals of late. Metals haven't fallen as far or as fast as crypto (metals still up on the week as others have pointed out)
What does Monday have in store for metals? Will metals follow crypto, exhibit risk-ON characteristics and have a big dip to mirror crypto, or will gold decouple from USD, interest rates and crypto? 
This is a litmus test for gold IMHO and will tell us whether the majority of the recent rally has been speculative paper action or long-term physical stacking. If gold drops significantly on Monday with all that's going on then the recent price action has been mostly a paper scam (gold acting like a risk-ON asset). If gold goes up on Monday/next week then physical gold is still the one true measuring stick of ultimate security and store of wealth, a risk-OFF asset, like it should be

Sometimes Iran does this stuff performatively to keep militant factions in their political system sated but don't want it to turn into something bigger. If this turns out to be a damp squib expect gold price to be a bit weird for a while. Recent spot prices have this action priced in. If it genuinely changes the temperature in the middle east upwards then gold will tell us.

Gin and tonics too (for me at least) But, yes, gold - It is. Depends on the upheaval though... needs to be serious upheaval in the wind. Best to buy a bit when the US warns that a geopolitically important country is about to do some stupid stuff so you can cover your premiums when it happens a week or two later because gold shifts upwards faster than it's usual glacial pace.
