  1. UK War Czar Grant Shapps has secured significant public funds for his latest Ministry (Defence) and has announced that Great Britain will be sending a regimental goat and a sniffer dog (Dachshund) named Colin to help out in Israel.
  2. To believe the bollocκs that this is down to a "security error" by the Israelis is naïve in the extreme.
  3. Many thanks to all who offered their help - I am truly grateful. I have now arranged a potential intermediary for the coin in question...I just need to win the auction now. All the help offered has been greatly appreciated. My kindest regards, PL
  4. The yield on 10 year Treasury bonds has long been accepted as the primary augur/ indicator as regards the direction of financial markets. Current 10Y yields have been on the rise for over three years and are currently at a 15 year high of 4.8%. China and most of the rest of the (non-US) world are selling T-bonds like there is there is no tomorrow. The only buyer of note is the Fed itself. Expect another raft of US bank failures in the none too distant future as their own holdings of "safe" Treasuries bites them in the αrse one final and fatal time. That's without mentioning the unspoken derivatives black-hole. . The only way I perceive anything but an imminent day of reckoning for the stock market is in the form of delay ahead of the Presidential "elections". Whether the Fed steps in with huge (freshly printed) "money" to stick a finger in the dyke and temporarily stave off the forthcoming cataclysm is open to debate. Either way, the deluge is on its way and I for one would not touch Treasuries with a barge pole. Experience dictates that the sell-off will, initially, be across the board from equities to gold (panic and "margin-covering") and other commodities. Gold will drop but once it starts to bounce many will be left clutching at thin air. I believe US Treasuries are on a par with Izal. But that will not stop the world falling out of their αrse.
  5. I have recently discovered a coin that i have been after for 20+ years is for sale - but, sadly, in Germany. Although the (silver) coin is not of any great monetary value, postage charges outside Germany are prohibitively expensive. If there are any TSF members who would be prepared to accept delivery in Germany on my behalf, I would be extremely grateful if they could get in touch with me. Anybody who feels they might be able to assist or offer advice or "tags" - all help gratefully accepted. I have no idea if this is the correct forum section - my apologies to moderators @trp @ChrisSilver if I should have listed elsewhere. Many thanks in advance, My kindest regards, PL @James32
  6. Thank you @Petra. Yes I have all the other 68 1oz coins (and the anniversary 5oz coin and 3oz Roobar).
  7. 2023 RAM Silver 1oz $1 "Mob of Thirty" Kangaroos The 2023 silver proof and frosted Royal Australian Mint were the 69th and 70th 1oz $1 coins in the "Skippy" series and give a strong signal that this once sublime series is on its last legs. These coins marked the 30th anniversary of the first such roo by yet again repeating the initial design - just as they did for the 20th anniversary in 2013. However, on that occasion - as in 2018 - the anniversary was an addendum to the collection, with a new design also being minted in both years.. Never before has the RAM shown such comprehensive disdain and unparalleled apathy towards its once flagship coin. One is led towards the inevitable conclusion that this series is now in its final throes of atrophy. The allegedly "iconic" design itself is nothing short of startlingly mediocre. A far cry from the magnificence that is the 2003 Jirrah-Watty. The series is dying - not with a bang, but a whimper. With huge thanks to @jultorsk for the impeccable roorunning.
  8. Tombola Cornucopia The splendid haul of swag that was the "Silver to Platinum" prize has now landed and I again offer my heartfelt thanks to @stefffana, @ryanwinter73 and @theman73. All glorious. I must also extend my gratitude to admin @ChrisSilver for the one month's TSF membership credit.
  9. Many thanks for their impressive generosity to @theman73, @ryanwinter73 and especially to @stefffana as organiser and patron. This will be only the second time I have drunk Romanian wine...the teaspoon is an appropriate accoutrement if the first is anything to go by. Thanks also to all those who have offered felicitations, be it via PM or in this thread. My kindest regards, PL
  10. Although it would be splendid if were as simple as this, one should bear in mind the overwhelming apathy of British sheep when it comes to matters politic...and combine that with the intense power-hunger of Sad Dιck's ilk. The proportion of Muslim councillors across the London boroughs bears unwelcome witness to the next Mayoral "election" being far from tolling a sure-fire death-knell for the incumbent nanotwat. Bookmakers currently give the poison dwarf a 75-80% chance of winning. 'Nuff said.
  11. Stupid people didn’t just appear with the scamdemic, although it was one of the most notable side-effects of the alleged virus. Stupid people have been around for a long time. So, it is no surprise that "intelligent" people studied and wrote about them before the hoax exposed them in their billions. In 1976, a professor of economic history, Carlo M. Chipola, published an essay on the laws of stupidity. The article “The five universal laws of human stupidity” gives an overview. His first law states: Law 1: Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation. No matter how many idiots you suspect may surround you, Cipolla wrote, you are invariably underestimating the total. The problem is compounded by biased assumptions that certain people are intelligent based on superficial factors such as their job, education level, or other traits that most believe to be exclusive of stupidity. They are not. According to a 2007 University of Nevada Department of Psychology study on college students, the frequency of common phenomena of inner experience (inner speech, inner seeing (aka images), non-symbolized thinking, feeling, and sensory awareness), only 22% to 34% of this cohort have a self-reflecting capacity and are maybe able to combat their stupidity with spiritual practices. A brilliant substack piece by Ma Mu - https://markusmutscheller.substack.com/p/stupid-people?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2
  12. Impressive generosity and courtesy @stefffana. Thank you. #32
  13. These RM anomalies do occur occasionally and taking advantage of them is generally very profitable if you have the time to wait. Another example is the 2009 silver £1 shieldback. The proof coin has a mintage of 8,508 and sells for £20-£25. The BU version was the first of its kind.. and a box-office debacle. With a maximum mintage of 50,000 only 359 were actually sold. As such it is the rarest silver decimal definitive coin ever minted. The current going rate is £200 unless you get very lucky.
  14. If this box is wood-lined - as it appears - then I strongly recommend that you take internal and external measurements of the depth of this box. It is very likely that you will find it is lead-weighed, the base metal accounting for most of the weight.
