My first Thaler. It is an .Ausbeutetaler from 1855 king Georg V of Hannover.
Look at that lovely shield reverse.
 
 

I'm such a liar - popped in again to LBMA dealer on my way back from Kabuki Theater - 175 quid the pair.

I received a few private mint silver ounces today. 3 Zombucks, 2 Prospectors and a 2oz Cleopatra. I really like the Cleopatra and am hoping they come out with some more of the Egyptian themed rounds. My brother goes metal detecting often, so I'm giving him 1 of the Prospectors and a display easel so he can look at it often.

Couldn't resist popping in to see what they had on (kinda) my way home.
 
1927 South African sov AU
1981 1/4 onza Mexican Libertad UNC
1902 Australian sov VF Perth Mint
 
all for 38,000 yen each (sovs and 1/4 onza) which at today's rate is 206 quid each.
and the dealer threw in a 1979 Mexican onza for free. UNC (and based on the lower position of the word "una" appears to be a type IV (so that is all good as it has a slightly lower mintage - no biggie but fun to notice)
 
That's me done for the month....now to settle in for Christmas and focus in on the really important things in life....:)

My £50 coin arrived along with my Orient Express sterling silver medal. Was more impressed with the medal than the £50 coin.

Australian proof 4 coin 1986 nugget set : in the original box & COA. Love these old unique designs , based on real Aussie gold finds ; only problem is that there are still two more years to collect - 1987 and 1988 - before the kangaroos took over ! 
Got them for a steal in US - worked out at equivalent of £775 / ounce. Not bad for collector proofs...almost convinced myself this is stacking  

One Libertad proof 1991, in its nice old box, and for comparison a modern design 2014 Libertad proof. Both 1 oz silver. 
The side by side allows you to compare the diameter - modern being bigger, and the reverse designs - which changed in 2000. 
Mintage 10,000 for 1991 and 4,700 (i think) for 2014. 

I bought this Thaler 1855 Hannover. The mintage is 973,685. Weight 16.82 gram silver .993
 
 
 
 

Today I ordered 8x 1oz Silver .999 Cassiopeia Northern Skies Royal Australian Mint 2016 Beauties.
 

The £50 for £50 arrived. 
Not a bad coin, just not a great coin either. 
It would appear that my hesitation in ordering was kind of justified at least in my mind. 
Not too worried about it though.
