  1. Very good argument for the motion! I’m starting to chill already.
  2. It takes a lot to offend me but when I read the topic title “Big nugget You tube” I want to know why you’re calling me a big nugget and a tube? C’mon now, lets have some respect on this forum please!
  3. The Royal Mint Coin Club clearly had some spelling issues back then. The description goes from half sovereign to soveriegn, plus the coins are masterpeices when they should be masterpieces… unless they only come in the 22 carrot version of course!
  4. I think the Mint slipped up by putting the initials BP on both coin versions @GoldDiggerDave. Surely only Prince George’s 5th Birthday deserves the Birthday Party invites?
  5. Totally agree. The smooth rim on the SOTD gave it away for me when comparing the 2 side by side pics (they opened up in a separate tab so I only noticed the pics with the NGC labels afterwards). The numerals look nicer on the SOTD as well, plus the field is clearly visible between George’s head and the horse’s mane. The gap between the two isn’t apparent on the standard proof. The SOTD does lack the privy mark though.
  6. “Wonkies” hey? Can you copyright that? I can’t say I noticed it listed as a choice of NGC grading labels.
  7. Seriously my friend, your eye for coins and proclamation details are second to none and your dedication to TSF is much to be admired. Whereas folk like me can just occasionally sneak in and out on the forum without anybody noticing, you cannot creep away without alerting the forum guard dogs. I’d say keep up the good work but I know you will. Cheers for now. S
  8. Are you sure you don’t have 2 separate coins in separate square holders buddy? It looks to me that, when you were looking for your camera, the King took the opportunity to grab a quick peek at the design on the reverse of the coin above him. He was fed up hearing it’s behind you!
  9. Plus you’re in Cyprus which doesn’t really help matters. Bankman-Fried may get his first jail release before you get a first release.
  10. I appreciate all of your hard work on your channel Dave. Well done on using the correct pronunciation of the french word Piedfort. It’s irritating to hear a former TSF member talking about Pie forts on his channel as well as NGC giving labels their own take on the spelling.

    Steer clear. If it’s a sovereign OF @SheepStackerthen I suspect it’s a fake 😜
  12. They’re probably too busy taking pre-orders for the King Charles coronation sovereign along with his memorial sovereign and the King William coronation sovereign. Dates to be announced soon apparently 😏
  13. Your first video on location? It could have also been your first age-restricted video had @LawrenceChard been captured in shot zooming past on his skis and usual clothing attire!
  14. I used both 1x and 3x magnification on my iPhone 13 Pro and they were over coin snaps on the window cill to use the natural daylight. I’d upgraded my phone specifically for the zoom capability to take decent snaps of my coins. I’m wondering if/how many of my other raw coins will reveal flaws under closer scrutiny but that’s for another time as they’re stored elsewhere in a safe deposit facility. Thanks for asking.
  15. The coin appears fine to the naked eye so I’m happy to keep it raw (must be @westminstrel’s influence). Noticeable flaws on magnification are white specks at the top of the upper leg of the unicorn. Same issue halfway down between KCIII’s lip and the bottom of his chin. Also small hairs (?) near the lion’s groin. They’re in quite a few places within the capsule so I don’t think they’re all pubic ones. All comments welcome please to confirm what these different flaws are. I’m delighted there’s no unpleasant black specks visible to the naked eye, so all is good. Thanks for looking folks.
  16. Give us a chance 😊 I’ve just been editing them. Feeling stressful now as my tech savvy daughter is nowhere to be seen at crunch time 😩
  17. I’m pleased with my matte BU quintuple which arrived today courtesy of Mark Osborne at uk gold coins, however I also agree with your verdict above. Some of the design does appear lost on the matte (took me ages to find Where’s Wally) and the contrast between the design and the fields can only be an improvement on the proofs. I’m going to attempt to put some pics on my next post for Stuntman who’s waiting on his own matte coin.
  18. This is all top class info for me Dave. Thanks very much for the benefit of your experience.
  19. I look forward to your comparison pics Dave. I’ve been notified that my quintuple matte BU is on its way to me as well. Strange considering we were recently led to believe it would be despatched in March, but maybe it’s because I ordered mine through Mark Osborne (uk gold coins) after the RM website wouldn’t let me proceed to checkout on release date. FYI @Stuntman
  20. Thank you very much for the update. Bad news for myself and @Stuntman then. Quintuple matte sovereign ordered mid-November but not getting released until 2 weeks before British Summer Time begins. So not a January release after all. That’s disgraceful service taking thousands of pounds off up to a thousand customers almost 4 months upfront. Just how many more rats are left in that RM sinking ship?
  21. Yes, me. But I ordered mine through a third party (UK gold coins) as the RM website wouldn’t let me pay for it in my basket. That was when we all got through the initial queue and before the website crashed. On reflection I hadn’t bought anything direct from the RM since the 2019 silver Una so maybe that’s where the problem lay. My subsequent buys have been graded coins from other dealers. One kind TSF member steered me towards the third party dealers and I’ve bought from Mark Osborne before so fingers crossed this time. Please let me know if you receive any updates kind sir and I’ll do likewise. In the meantime go easy on the stunts Stuntman!
  22. Your proof version will look nicer than this one. I think the field on the obverse is spoilt by the crappy markings too.
  23. Exactly. I noticed this several years ago but on a much smaller scale than the current mess. Jessopp is raking in the cash in advance to manipulate the end of financial year results and impress her boss at HM Treasury by achieving the targets set to her and some more. Let’s hope we all learn from this by not taking the bait this time next year and scupper her plans. She’ll probably be moved on with a promotion elsewhere in the meantime though. I pity the customers waiting on the RM Christmas decorations though. They’re the ones with their Christmas trees still in the window in August.
  24. Perhaps we should call the 2016 proof “the murder mystery” because the Butler did it?
