  1. Personally, I would buy these. Dont see any red flags. All the best Dicker
  2. This gem is from Guernsey. I have no words….apart from Susan Boyle.
  3. They seem to have omitted Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the survey….. I agree with the above in that the RM has produced some absolute shockers honouring members of the royal family. Even worse has come from Alderney etc. The RM lost me as a customer a long time ago with their poor quality, copper mushy Sovs and lack of imagination.
  4. This is also an excellent example of why not to blindly trusted graded coins. PCGS / NGC know there are counterfeit slabs being produced that are high quality which is why they are now using RFID chips in their slabs. Buy the coin not the slab
  5. Interesting. I know one dealer who purchased an unusual gold coin and cracked it out and realised it was counterfeit but had got through PCGS / NGC. He even has a post about it here: https://www.sterlingcurrency.com.au/blog/news-research/proclamation-and-colonial-coins/a-jewellers-copy-of-the-british-east-india-company/
  6. I’m not an expert on slabs but it may be that the slab is genuine and has been opened - and a counterfeit coin substituted. Counterfeit PCGS graded slabbed coins are readily available and the slabs themselves are pretty convincing. See below for an example on a Chinese knockoff site Beware everyone!
  7. If you can provide the reference genuine composition of a genuine 1890 CC that would be useful for Entsor to compare against…..
  8. I have looked at the pics again on a high res screen rather than my iPhone. I am pretty sure it is a counterfeit.
  9. I think lots are from sets that are broken up (sadly). Plenty of collectors only want the Sov.
  10. Personally, I would not buy this coin because of the red flags above. Sorry, I should have said that in my reply above.
  11. Im with you that it looks a bit off. - Rim and denticles - Overall tone (although this is subjective based on the photos) - Liberty’s ear lobe - Corn sprigs in Liberties hair - Possibly a pop mark close to Liberty’s lips - Some of the eagles feathers don’t look right - top left tip of the eagles wing as an example You are right to be cautious it’s the rarest of the 1890 Morgan’s with a mintage of around 2M. Best Dicker
  12. I think you are probably right.
  13. Whilst the prices are dreadful, it’s their business, and their loss when it comes to flow of business.
  14. Very nice. @motorbikez I hope you don’t mind me commenting on your trade post, but wanted to highlight: - @motorbikez is a great gent to do business with. I have bought really nice coins from him, and he has been kind enough to sell to me directly. All were super quality and condition. - These coins are *hard* to get hold of in the U.K. I did manage to get these amongst others but from Australia which was a pain. Best Dicker
  15. I try not to be a “whinger”, but this morning I received the RM’s January newsletter. I found it to be utterly tone deaf - is it just me or does anyone else think the same? (1) Big first article with a photo of their CEO. Why do we need a photo of the CEO? (2) An article on the company economics of gold written by a “Business Development Manager” (3) An article about RM’s net zero goals and achievements. Essentially corporate bollocks. (4) A puff piece about the CEO getting a CBE with another photo of her on the factory floor. Who cares? And lots of selling articles - things that are of zero interest to me. My feeling is that it was constructed by an internal comms team rather than a customer focussed comms team. Good luck Anne Jessopp CEO, CBE - let’s hope you have better luck than Paula Vennells!
  16. I went back to the Baird website in Dec and Jan and saw some waffle about their website being in “final testing”. Went back today and their website doesn’t resolve. Not even a connection error. I find it remarkable they are still in business.
  17. So I clicked the “Start Appeal” button. Guess what I got:
  18. I told eBay that the seller admitted it was counterfeit…..utter binlords.
  19. And despite the seller admitting that the bar was fake:
  20. He re-listed. I have told him I want to do a deal. 🙂
  21. This utter scumbag Binlord is happy to advertise the bar as genuine (essentially) but privately admits not genuine. Revolting
