  1. Even then, you are not completely safe: A so-called "reputable" auction house / dealer / BNTA member! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. This might need to be reported for racist language! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. In most jurisdictions, that would fail as a legal defence. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Now there is another addition to the series: 2022 Rolling Stones 1 ounce silver coin. But they are my least favourite of the 5 so far. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. I know a good place to get one from: https://www.chards.co.uk/2023-gold-britannia-bullion-one-ounce-coin/17171 ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. If the Perth Mint have started casting these, then something is wrong! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. That's not a silly question, and how would the OP weigh to an ounce precisely? How many decimal places? Also most scales now weigh in grams, not many use troy ounces. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Yesterday, we tested a fake 1906-P gold sovereign using our Niton XRF machine. The gold content was within range, so would have fooled some people. I already knew it was a fake before I saw the test results. Nitons cost about ยฃ16K, but no machine is infallible. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. 1981 Half Sovereign Size Gold "Coin" Just for fun or a challenge, does anyone want to have a guess what this is, or venture any other opinions? Of course, I could have created a new account in the name of A. Newby, and asked what it was worth! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. Of course you can, but telephone conversations are more interactive. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. I know about those. It's because they are not RARE sTUNNING solid SILVER, like the ones on ebay! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Not having a slave to bring it for me! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. I was waiting for someone to say that. What took you 6 minutes? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. It might be worth you reading this: https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/advice-guide-for-uk-bullion-investors/1041 ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. On a serious note, there have been many good useful answers, in contrast to my facetious one. Although I have no experience of trading on TSF, I get a good impression that: TSF is a community, unlike ebay, etc. There is discreet moderation, which I guess works well in keeping buyers and sellers up to standard. It is only common sense that new members are treated with some caution. It may be worth mentioning that: I still hear some of our Customer Service telephone conversations where a potential customer has asked "If I send you ยฃx, how do I know I will get my coin(s)? How do I know the coin will be genuine?, etc. Now we have only been around since 1964, so I guess it may take another 50 years or so before people stop asking. Also, I sometimes notice a coin we have had on sale on our website for many years, and I don't know why it has never sold, despite in many cases, being too cheap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. Fair enough. Doesn't come close to the 2 gold sovereigns we once bought for 1 penny each some years ago! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. I don't buy on TSF either. Are there ever any absolute steals? ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. "Strike Your Own" can be fraught with problems. Many people who tried it got caught and ended up in jail. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. I have never tried to sell anything on TSF. As someone pointed out some time ago, I have 0 (ZERO) trading feedback, so who would risk paying me upfront for anything? Besides, @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer might wonder what was going on. It's a tough old life! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. "Hello" This wasn't about you was it?: ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  20. Sure. It sounds like you need to move to Blackpool! or.. you could read this... https://www.chards.co.uk/blog/advice-guide-for-uk-bullion-investors/1041 ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. I don't even try to remember the exact figures these days, but a Catch-22 type condition can catch people out. How do you know if someone's purchases hit any given threshold unless you log all their transactions including their very first one, and to be able to keep track, you need their ID. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  22. Rishi Sunak agree with me! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-64158653 ๐Ÿ˜Ž
