  1. How much per hour are you going to pay him for doing all the admin, packing, and postage? Or can you twist his arm to do "free" postage? 😎
  2. Almost as cheap as @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer when you compare like for like! And that's only for single coins. On higher quantity price breaks, the Chard saving is higher. Don't allow yourself to be fooled by "free" postage! 😎
  3. Especially if you pick them up yourself! 😎
  4. Because at the time, you didn't like £200 sovereigns. You should have picked up more when they used to be £100! 😎
  5. Do you think gold prices are going to be lower next month? 😎
  6. Presumably the OP does not want a full refund as there are 2 of the coins he does want, but does not want the third coin which he says was wrongly identified. If this is correct, he has a valid complaint and right to a remedy. CC will presumably have paid the original owner, so will probably be reluctant to rescind the sale transaction, and even more reluctant to take back the least desirable of the three coins. Negotiating fair compensation for it would also potentially be difficult. If the OP is correct, then this is yet another example of an auction house being less than scrupulous, but the OP has omitted including a link, screenshot, or other supporting "evidence" of his claim. This is all too common in consumer complaints. 😎
  7. Your post is not absolutely clear, but... Do you have a link to the "lot", and / or a screenshot. Did you put your complaint to them in writing? I have little knowledge of The Coin Cabinet apart from having seen them mentioned on TSF quite frequently. 😎
  8. It ain't me babe! It sounds like the OP said it was exported from Germany, although I can't see any post from him to that effect, perhaps a PM? Tavex head office is in Lithuania or somewhere. I tried to check via Google, but it was unclear on any of their multiple websites, at least not without spending more time than I wished to. But as usual, it wouild do no harm for the OP to name the suppying dealer, although people seldom do, for some inexplicable reason. The most interesting part of this topic is that the OP appears to have paid a lot of import tax because the dealer failed to attach a complete and accurate customs label / invoice as he had been requested, and as should be standard practice. To tell the customer it is his problem sounds like poor service. 😎
  9. She could have bought a Gucci handbag for that, which would now be worth twice as much as your palladium bars. But seriously, good thinking, and well done! 😎
  10. "Chards, for example, will sell you exactly the same coin for £680" There is a catch, though, We @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer charge £6 postage! 😎
  11. "There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase closely associated with P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid-19th century. 😎
  12. 200? RSI? Was this written by a robot? In which case, did it have Repetitive Strain Injury? 😎
  13. I don't doubt that T.A. can be a useful tool, if used with care, and possibly caution. Most of the Blackpool Promenade fortune tellers have closed down due to unforeseen circumstances! 😎
  14. I took a very quick look at your link, and am waiting for someone to find the England and the Lion drawing, although I guess it might not go under that name. 😎
  15. No, I saw your post above, although I did not look at the link to your earlier post. Neither did I mention prediction, although I mentioned "projection", and "expect". I am aware that forecasts are about probability, although the average person looking at a weather forecast expects it to be "right" because they fail to understand that it is based on statistics applied to data. I am also aware there is a difference between "forecast" and "prediction", although I do not entirely agree with this statement: "Forecasting is an estimation of a future events which one can make by incorporating and casting forward data related to the past in a pre-determined and systematic manner. Prediction is an estimate of future events made by subjective considerations." I wonder if tasseographers / tasseomancers became extinct because they failed to foresee the popularity of tea bags? 😎
  16. Yes. Technical analysts spend hours compiling charts, reading the tea leaves, then project a pattern into the future, and their typical conclusion is something like... "I expect (the) silver (price) to break higher if it hits £$€xxx, but if it fails to break upwards this time, I think it will crash (through its lower support level)..." In other words, they think silver (or whatever) will go up, but if it doesn't go up, it will go down. Of course, they may be wrong, and it might stay in its recent trading range, but that wouldn't be interesting to their readers. I think I would rather go to a fortune teller on Blackpool Promenade! 😎
  17. Are you suggesting that one of our biggest "competitors" tells lies? I don't even like the title "Lady Liberty". Also, I have not yet seen the original drawings, but I imagine they are far better then the somewhat crudely styled engraving on the medallion. 😎
  18. This chart only has data back to 2017, but includes a low of about £535 Does that alter your thinking? 😎
  19. I read their sales blurb, and detected 3* missing apostrophies, and a bit of curious English / Irish? After more than a hundred years hidden between the leaves of a book deep in the vaults of the Smithsonian Museum, “One of the most beautiful designs of all times” has finally been brought to life in pure 24-carat Gold. The discovery was a revelation and we are very excited to announce that at last, these wonderful images have finally been brought to life by The Smithsonian Institutute. These strictly limited commemoratives have all been struck to Proof quality, the highest possible standard which is unrivalled in sharpness, detail and finish, and come complete with an informative story card. George T. Morgan created this design while he worked at the British Royal Mint and took it with him as he ventured on his new career in the United States, meaning it was already in existence before the worlds is most known coin design – the Morgan Dollar. When you compare both designs, there are some instantly recognisable elements with the Lady Liberty – which makes the ‘London & the Lion’ motif, possibly the design that influenced what became one of the worlds most instantly recognisable coins – ‘The Morgan Dollar’. Rest assured that you have no further commitments and your purchase is protected by The Dublin Mint Office 14 day “no quibble” guarantee. You have no further obligations. * Arguably only 2! 😎
