The 4 hour chart shows that we are close to the same level as the Friday night before the chaos weekend at the start of December. We have closed above that, so this setup could be another repeat on Sunday!!! But I kind of doubt that they'll manage to pull off a repeat of that crazy stunt though.

didn't they just hike the prices in October 2023? What utter bar stewards

Both but it's intraday
We shouldn't really be talking about ATHs until the weekly CLOSE tonight

Sell you gold off to @James32 quick before April 2nd or you'll get stung with the Royal Mail price increases.
Look at the higher tier SD insurance costs ! 🤯Someone's got to pay the postmasters compensation i suppose

I think technically only the closing price counts, we went over 1647 during trading previously I seem to remember

She is also mendacious, incompetent and corrupt.
Granted, these are compulsory attributes at the Fed.

I like this boring c**p. It's true, it is a leap in the dark and nobody knows what will happen because it's unprecedented. That didn't stop us doing unprecedented things in 1999-2008, 2008-2019, 2020-23 ....
The BoE and Fed had their pants pulled down by inflation when they claimed it would be inconsequential and "transitory". The BoE hired the big dawg of the last 20 years in central banking - Ben Bernanke - to help them not be so wrong next time. Benny was involved in the USA's total inability to create accurate forecasts and the former Chair and current Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, is an acolyte of Ben Bernanke. She owes much of her career and her philosophies to Bernanke. Everybody got it wrong and they're now saying the recession in the UK is already over. It must have been "transitory" 😂. To be fair Bernanke is a very serious and credible economist, I quite like him 🤷♂️

The Bank Term Funding Programme ends in USA in March. That would spell disaster for banks. Would they sell their gold as there's no chance of a loan? And will that cause the Gold price to collapse short term? But then a huge recession will starts and gold rockets....
Or they may just extend the programme and kick that can down the road... (wouldn't surprise me)

I have some PMs in a retail business that is held for investment/hedge during difficult times. My sales are stagnant (I sell items that are aimed at working class people - who have it hardest with food and energy prices - hence no disposable income). So I'm looking to sell some PMs while times are quiet (so I can invest in something else that generates income).
But my personal stack is patiently waiting, I intend to hold most long term. I will always sell some along the way to put towards my annual ISA allowance and I'll always have items that I keep purely because I enjoy them (e.g. unusual silver coins or date runs).
I personally think the metals will have a big sell off (e.g. over a 3-6 month period) when the liquidity crisis comes but then a long bull run for years. However, who knows what will happen when governments move the goal posts and can change the global economy with one decision overnight.
