Not worth in my opinion to buy premium copper. The cheapest certified kilo bars on the market are @£45/kilo. Spot price is @£7/kilo, so the premium is @650%.
Stay away from homemade backyard bars, even it is a trend now on YouTube. You don't know the purity, I bet it is way under .999.  Nobody will certify them, you can't sent them at the Assay Office, so you can resale them only at the scrap yards for max. £5/kilo.

Just been looking at the beginning of this topic by @Paul when gold was between £700 & £800!  I joined in 2018 when an ounce was still below £1000, and a good time to fill your boots.

Next month is the 10th anniversary of TSF - Has anything been planned?  Perhaps free silver rounds for long serving members?😁 Ha, Ha. This all started by monitoring Silver, not Gold!
When I started in 1997 Sovereigns were £45/50 and a 1oz for about £200, so the increase has been about x8.
I know that inflation has eaten away at the spending power of any profit made, but it’s better than nothing.
Good-luck for all members who are holding gold for the medium to long-term…..

This post is really for all non paying TSF members. However it will probably resonate with a lot of paid members too.
***I haven't been asked to write this but it is a kind of testimonial***
When I started buying precious metals years ago it wasn't a problem, as I would buy current year silver and gold bullion, and directly from very reputable online dealers. As the years went on I started getting more interested in older coins, sovereigns to be specific. However I had very little, to no knowledge on what to look for. So as I started to do research online and TSF posts kept coming up. So one day I decided to join. It's great that you can get so much information on here and post questions without being a paid member. I learned so much just from being in the background and reading all the new threads and responses.
So a little time later after becoming acquainted to the site, I bit the bullet and started a new topic. I can't remember what my first question was, but all I can remember that after all the responses, it saved me making a very costly purchase on a coin. I continued to stay on as a free member for a little while longer, mostly because I didn't have the time to be more active, and  then found I had to ask another question. Again loads of responses and very helpful advice from members.
I then took a moment and thought to myself. If it wasn't for TSF, I could have lost a lot of money, and also not made purchases that I would have normally passed on. So I decided to become a silver premium member. I pay £5.99 a month (the price of a coffee and croissant in London) and off course with becoming a paid member I can buy and sell on here, but that wasn't my intention. I knew it would be very unlikely that I would buy much due to the fact that I currently live in Portugal. I did it because I wanted to support the forum, due to how members have helped me. On a side note, if you are in the UK and are interested in buying PM's (Precious Metals), then there are some amazing deals to be had on here. I cry sometimes at how cheap things are, compared to dealers, ebay and over here in Portugal. I really don't care if the owner is making a big profit or not. They are providing a safe, friendly and very helpful service, that I hope to be part of for many years to come.
So for the sake of £5.99 a month, I would highly suggest you get your credit/debit cards out, buy a premium membership, and support TSF. It's money well spent and if you're buying PM's. you'll save that several times over when you make a purchase.
    Just my personal TSF experience.
Peace and love to all at TSF 🙏 (God knows we need it)

Thanks mate, I actually was offered a much more senior role as well to stay, essentially trying to buy me and not being tempted was a great relief.

Even though I has liquid savings there's a real added security in the physical stuff!

This cashless things has been orchestrated over many years. Obstacles have been put in our way to to force this cashless society and it is not for our benefits.
It is the old boiling the the frog alive. Put a frog in boiling water and it would jump out, put it in warm water and soon it will boil to death.
Governments tried this same scenario with the covid jab to see how gullible people were and it seems that 80% fell for it for an easier life. The most stupid of all are the ones who took it just to go on holiday.

VGfine reacted to stefffana in Auction starting from £1 - American Eagle 5 Dollars 1988 - Gold 1/10oz impaired proof with original boxes and COA
    Good afternoon, dear friends!
I have today for auction a tenth ounce gold, American Eagle 1988 with original box and COA.
Please consider this coin as impaired proof or bullion condition, because will not grade as PF70.
Study the magnified x 5 photos attached and judge yourself if will fit in your collection or not before bidding.
The short story of this coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces10493.html.
The coin is in my possession from three years, I have bought it from forum and I have never knew it was damaged. I have sold it last month for £200 posted as proof to @Sovhead, he noticed the imperfections so I have immediately refunded him.
I want to highlight the gentleman's attitude of @Sovhead who refused a 10% extra offered by me as compensation for his dissatisfaction and supplementary stress. He accepted only the price he paid and shipping costs. Many thanks, my friend! You are a Star!🤗
I will let now the forum to decide the price of this coin.
The auction starts now and will end tomorrow night at 20.00pm sharp.
Starting price is £1, minimum increments £1.
Shipping cost for SD will be included in the final bid.
The parcel will be sent on Wednesday morning.
    Happy bidding, ladies and gentlemen!
    Kindest regards,
    Stefan.

We are in the mess we are in today because too many people are happy to give up their freedom for a what they perceive to be an easier life.  One day your easier life will be your nightmare.
I use cash as much possible.  If I sell something on FB it will be cash and the cash gets used in local shops, petrol stations etc. I only use a card when there is no other option.
Using cash, gives you more control on what you spend.   If the OP was local, I would have no problem selling them gold for cash.
By the way, there are still places in Hatton Garden where you can purchase with cash and sell for cash.
