  1. Presumably this comes from the success of the Coronation strike your own.
  2. Another excellent piece of research (or should I say pieces) to keep us all informed. Thank you!
  3. All Gold now selling them. Good to see they are offering them through TSF selling page.
  4. A repeat of the BBP coronation coin? Issue of 500 will be attractive. Can't say the price is though.
  5. For the 75th birthday some started selling same time as the RM. Not seen that this time.
  6. SOTD D-Day now showing no longer available on the RM site. Sold out quicker than I thought especially given the 1k mintage.
  7. There'll be more QE2 coins. 2026 is 100 years since her birth. My money is on several coins and a SOTD.
  8. It sometimes feels like they are scrabbling around to find an anniversary to issue a SOTD and can devalue it as a result. Difficult to argue against your list in terms of popularity and if people want that SOTD it obviously makes it more valuable and desirable. The 2017 issue is significant to coin collectors but of little interest to the public. The D Day issue this week is probably the other way round. Personally I would put the 75th birthday SOTD second after the coronation. Not because of the event (far from it) but because it is unique and is the only 2023 sovereign with an uncrowned head.
  9. Can't understand why they didn't start with one house (eg Tudors) and issue them all chronologically. If it had been a success they could have done Stuart's, etc. If it wasn't any good they could cancel and everyone who bought would have a full set. Also someone new could join at the start of the next house and not feel it was all or nothing. Whoever decided to go between the royal houses with no logic to what was coming next shouldn't be let lose on any new series.
  10. Will the first issue now be the winner of the election as St George and the losers head on the dragon? 🤭
  11. SOTD showing reserved again. Presume it means they are not sold out but are waiting further cancellations.
  12. I presume it means it is valid at Port Lockroy and the British bases but I'd be very surprised if any became circulating currency. Visiting boats have their own currency. Like most overseas territories that are linked to the £, British and local currency are used freely eg Gibraltar, St Helena, Falklands).
  13. Usually means the item hasn't been released or arrived. For example the D Day SOTD sovereign is sold pre-issue because it hasn't been struck yet.
  14. Think it's only valid within the BAT (which includes South Shetland Islands). Falklands is a separate overseas territory as I believe is South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands.
  15. That's a quicker sell out than I thought it would be if they are down to selling those initially reserved but not taken up by those with managers. Also yet to see any dealer having it for sale on their web site. Maybe they were 'badly bitten' by the 75th birthday sotd which hasn't sold out even now on some sites.
  16. I'll give it a miss. I'll be long gone by the time he's King.
  17. Don't know what all the fuss is about. In mint condition.
  18. Fortunately fears that RM were going to grade them and sell at a £100 extra doesn't seem to have come to fruition and it was a dealer offer. However I won't hold my breath just yet - I'll wait to see what happens after the strike has taken place.
  19. Thanks for the link. Signed up for the information.
  20. Already a thread covering this - if it helps.
  21. Thought they'd release it as a double coin set. They often go for royal events for SOTD .. and next year is Prince Andrew's 65th birthday.
  22. Missed out myself.
  23. Sometimes find that the 48 left is an understatement as all of those 'reserved' for customers aren't taken up and get released back into the system. Not seen any for sale at dealers yet.
  24. Surprised by the 1,000. Are they going to try and sell it through veterans associations to warrant that number?
