As usual, Coming from Wales, I'm 33.3333r % slower than the rest of the UK now 20mph is mandatory.
Nice one @Orpster. Thank you for answering.
Just noticed
The 1848 has a mintage of 2,246,701 and is also scarce but may be a little more than the 1846 at a mintage of 3.802,947

1858 & 1859 are rare's, hard to get in any condition and expensive in decent grades
1865 & 1846 are scarce
1882 will depend on the mint, Melbourne being scarce and Sydney not (its either common or normal I cannot remember which)
Rest are common or normal
This may help, its my crib sheet:
1838 R 1839 R2 1841 R3 1844 S 1845 S 1846 S 1848 S 1849 R 1850 R 1858 R 1859 R 1860 S 1865 S 1872M R 1873S S 1874 R4 1878S S 1880M R2 1881M R 1881S R 1882M S 1883M R2 1883S S 1885S S 1886M R3 1886S S 1887M R3 1887S S -

Having seen the kilo silver bar I looked up the measurements for a kilo gold bar then made a cardboard model, it's about the same size as a small bar of chocolate.
Didn't bother buying one.

Aldebaran reacted to flyingveepixie in Gold Monitoring Thread £ GBP only
I don't reckon there will be a smackdown this weekend. It seems to me that the manipulators are buying hard in the last two days in preparation for a possible negative event this weekend when all the markets are shut. Safe haven behaviour for some reason....🤔
I've been seeing this pattern quite often over the past year. If nothing happens there might be a big sell off at the beginning of next week....
...or there might not be....🤔
This might have something to do with it...

Just imagine how much more disappointing it would be to receive a kilo gold bar! 🤣
-
Aldebaran reacted to Thelonerangershorse in Today I Received.....
I always expected a kilo bar to be bigger, pretty dissappointed when I actually got one.
On the plus side it fits easily in a safe which a brick sized bar wouldn't.

Aldebaran reacted to Yetiwatch in 2002-2003 Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee 24 Coin Silver Proof Set
Evening all!
I have on offer the full 24 coin proof set which consists of 24 silver coins weighing in at 28.28 grams each, totalling 678.72 grams of sterling silver or 627.816 grams of pure silver. No obvious issues with any of the coins and to my knowledge have never been handled.
I am offering the set up for £500 plus postage which is at the time of posting is around £9 over spot price.
Payment via BT.
If I receive payment tonight, I can post tomorrow.
The box is heavy, so feel free to just take the coins only.
Thanks

Aldebaran reacted to HowardW in Time to square up? Jersey gold £1 1981 £1000 delivered
Here we have to go the Jersey 1981 £1 1981 gold coin, commemorating the Bicentennial of the Battle of Jersey
17.55g of 22 carat. Issue of 5,000. Comes in capsule and box with the explanatory paper as seen.
Struck as a frosted proof but there are some light marks on both sides so, while a nice coin, it's definitely not perfect
In terms of CGT, this is a "chattel" - tax-free so long as the sales proceeds are less than £6k. (It's a chattel because it was a sterling coin until it was demonetised)
£1000 delivered (Special) ono
Payment by bank transfer; will consider payment on receipt if you have good feedback/references (but at my discretion)
