  1. Nice offer and some nice items but shipping costs are very high. £9.95 UK shipping makes a single 1oz silver coin unviable. 🙁
  2. Some people collect date runs so lower mintage years would be of interest to them...but that isn't really of any interest to me. I think most date specific coins are bought for birth years. Milestone years seem to be priced higher, but obviously they'll change every year. (For example, this year - 18 = 2005, 21 = 2002, 30 = 1993, 50 = 1973) Then there are major events... Maybe 1989 would be seen as an iconic year in Germany with the fall of the Berlin wall for example?
  3. Mine auto-fills Tesco.com. 😄 TSF is saved as a direct icon on my laptop homepage, just takes one click to open. Works well in my browser, easy to read, easy to see pictures and enlarge them, easy to message other members or leave feedback. I agree this forum doesn't work perfectly on mobile though. Can see why some would prefer an app if regularly using a mobile device.

    Help Needed

This is a big problem for me too. On here I generally ask for things to be posted via Tracked48. Or to an alternative address which can then be relayed to me about a week later. The only benefit of 'Special' delivery is the insurance. It doesn't usually get there any quicker. It doesn't offer any more tracking points. It costs more than twice as much as standard options. And causes the hassle of signature or return. Plus, it's advertising to everyone that there's a valuable item inside with the bright silver packaging. Can't stand it myself! 🙄 Of course, if you live in a rough area or have a dodgy postman then the insurance could be useful, but if PM's are packaged discretely (and not rattling in caps lol!) then I doubt they're any more likely to get lost than normal post. Most online retailers will only send to the same address as the card but not all of them. Atkinsons allow a different address if you pay by bank transfer instead of by card. Bleyer allow a different address as well. If anyone knows of others, please let us know. I'm reluctant to use BBP again as they don't allow an alternative address - but I do want that gold Koala. 😅
  5. Thanks to both of you. 🙂 I got the chance to check the Batarang yesterday while putting away some newly received PMs. Turns out it's in a fitted capsule inside the Apmex bag! I should probably go to Specsavers. 😄
  6. That is odd. Is the duty & VAT normally different for importing to Germany than importing to the UK? Also wonder whether you should declare them at the port when you return to Germany? I've got no experience in that area, just interested.
  7. I've been assuming (hoping) APMEX wouldn't use PVC in their bags. I have a silver Batarang that I thought would come in a capsule but it just came in a sealed bag. Never going to find a capsule to fit it so I've kept it in the bag for airless storage. Now doubting whether that's the best option. 🤔
  8. Yeah, but importing them to the UK adds 20% VAT sadly. Plus $20 shipping. Makes them unviable for me. I wondered if any were being sold by dealers in the UK but it looks like they aren't.
  9. I really like the peace dollar design. Have a few old ones from select years. I assume there's no way to purchase these proofs at a reasonable price in the UK? 🤔
  10. You can get a free magnet from SilverTrader when buying another coin from there. 🙂 Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet (silvertrader.uk)
  11. I would assume a lot of buyers just accept it as they don't want the hassle of returns. I haven't returned any PM's so far for exactly that reason, despite being less than content with the quality and condition of a few. I just try a different retailer next time and keep any retailers I have poor experience with as a last resort in future. I'd like to hope they'd realise what's happening and start checking coins before dispatch if enough people do that, but I also accept they may not realise the reason for reduced sales without a direct complaint.
  12. I'll probably buy a 1oz silver as long as I like design when revealed. As mentioned above, I'd prefer a sealed/carded version as I have with the 3 Graces and the Diamonds are Forever bars. (Been waiting for the next Bond bar for ages - I wonder if they postponed that for these instead?)
  13. Cheapest was Dancu...but his are long since sold out now. Silvertrader still has plenty in stock, might be worth asking if he can do a better bulk deal than the standard % discounts on his website. There is a disclaimer on them containing imperfections though, so guessing a lot of his are milky. I was so disappointed with my 1oz silver I ended up buying a gold 1/10oz instead. Quality is considerably better than the silver one, but it has a large scratch across the background. 🙄
  14. I've got plenty of 2022 1oz silver in the collection, but don't see much of it coming up on here or eBay at the moment. As above, the premium & VAT means that private buyers will be holding onto recent coins for a few years at least.
  15. I buy 1/10oz due to the price, rather than the premium. They are a bit small, but I can still see the detail on them...in good daylight next to a window anyway. 😄 I made the mistake of buying a 1/8th Sovereign last year, can't really see much on that. Have no intentions of buying smaller than a 1/10oz again. I've had a bit extra spare over the past few months, so bought 1/4oz instead of tenths...bit easier to see, but due to the way circle area works, not as bigger difference as I was expecting. I'm still buying more for a collection though, so not fussed about investment. I do think they're good value for money bought brand new - especially when compared to the premium on brand new 1oz silver.
  16. I don't consider 50k to be low mintage. Would need to be less than 10k for me. Though I don't think the Beskar bar is interesting enough to warrant a premium at all. (I did buy one though lol). I've got dragon bars from previous years but not keen on this years design. As someone suggested above, just buy what you like...pop culture changes over time. Mandalorian might all be forgotten about in 5 years time.
  17. Have you got a link to register? I do like a minted bar...
  18. I know which I'd prefer in my pocket... 😄
  19. I am keeping an eye on eBay too. Just hoping I might find one in better condition & at a lower price on here than on there. 🙂
  20. It is a genuine site, they also have an eBay shop which I've used once or twice. minted-uk on eBay (I have no link to them, name is just coincidental lol)
  21. I could be interested in the 1868 Franc. Can I ask if it was purchased from a reputable dealer or been confirmed as genuine during your ownership? Hopefully no offence caused but I looked at one on eBay before and quickly realised there were some fakes about so left it.
  22. Now looking for 1953 Canada dollar. 🙂
  23. As seen in the 'coming soon' thread, there's a 1/10th gold Koala being released next month. BBP already has a page for them. I'm hoping one of the more affordable UK dealers will get them in a little cheaper. 🙂 2023 1/10oz Gold Koala Coin | BullionByPost - From £191.70
  24. Did you take the address from the email or from the selling page? I had a couple of incorrect addresses shown on the email last year. Presumably the default address instead of the buyers desired address for that item. Since then I always double check the page before ordering postage.
