Just for reference, civil defence sirens were tested occasionally prior to their decommissioning in the early 90s. I remember hearing tests a couple of times. I've also seen news reporting when site-specific sirens were tested in more recent years (eg at Devonport.)

Nice bargain. Let's test the waters. Do you want to sell it to me for £45?

TBH, I’ve never seen any of these Money Fair Kooks go in the UK for more than £60 or so.
I picked this one up recently for £40 ish.

@Clarkatroid why would you comment on your own sales post to start bashing Chards, just because you don’t agree with the price that they offered to buy from you.
If you were selling a used car and the nearest garage wouldn’t give you what you wanted, then surely you’d just go to another garage. Until:
A: You get the price you want.
    or
B: You realise that your expectations are over inflated and settle for less.
Also, why would you bring up an article from 23 years ago about someone who you know is a member of the forum and then say that the forum that you are trying to sell on is and I quote, ‘full of trolls’.
Talk about how to alienate people.

at the end of the day, they are not forcing you to sell to them. If thats what they are offering, thats what they are offering. You move on to the next.

I am guessing there would be a time when they are short on stock so they offer more
last thursday for me..... good times

Anteater got a reaction from GoodAsGold in The Oxford Mint Britannia 1g Gold Bar WOW WOW ( New Release): A Beautiful Bar What Do You Think ?
"What do you think?" is a very broad question and IMO people's responses here absolutely fall within its scope. Furthermore, you must be aware that people are interested in, and do ascribe value to, heritage - even for bullion pieces.

So you didn't actually want to know what people thought?
Even if you had more tightly constrained your question/post, the fact is that trying to impose your own rules on a discussion thread on someone else's forum will tend to leave a bad taste in the mouth of many other commenters. There's a difference between remaining on topic and trying to control the narrative.

Oxford Mint Ltd incorporated in 2021 and has only ever had one director, a Rajesh Kaji: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13113850/officers
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that putting "In its 21st century reincarnation ..." on their "The Mint Today" page doesn't entirely excuse claiming a history going back to 871 AD on their "History" page.
So very much like the modern EIC - they also talk about the unrelated historic EIC on their website...

Max membership fees are £20 or something so you were overcharged. I’d report that.

Have you tried selling to the Oxford mint? They are not based in Oxford mind you, but they could be somewhere close to Birmingham or Dusseldorf . . . . Who knows

Does it all matter after you've cashed out of your position though? Regardless of where you choose to go to sell based on want or need, you will cash out at fair market value (especially on the forum). I personally don't care about what the buyer of my items does with it.
Unless it's rare or numismatic coins/bars, I'd have an issue!

There are whales on TSF who rarely post. They could buy it within an hour if the price is right. This James fellow you are chatting to has probably spent £1 million on the buy/sell on TSF alone (there are other platforms) and the Welsh (not Indian) guy ZRPMs has a flock of sheep worth > £1 million. If you sell to him I hope you like wool!

So, you ask for help & advice.
You are given good advice & step by step guide exactly what to do, by several different folk here who have done it or are doing it for a living/side hustle

........ gee even there's even an emoji button with a of a cup for "thanks" if you cant take the 5 seconds to type "thank you" out by hand

Hi @very452001, you've been registered on the forum since 2018, why don't you check out the UK buy and sell page to see how it works? No need for a membership to sell. You are restricted to 1 listing every 30 days I think.
You may get a whale buying all, or you may get multiple people buying.
It could be a term of your sale that you are looking to sell all in one go.
If you're looking for speed, bullion dealers such as BBP and Atkinsons will give you a sh!te rate, probably spot or below. Selling on the forum you'll get better prices.

It will sell very quickly… if you price it right. As in everything the higher the volume the lower the price, for buyer and seller. It’s not a sell order.. it’s a physical product.

what was Joe in Birmingham offering you ?
