  1. ah right, i never even realised they had a sale on. I think they are still a forum sponsor here i believe, yet they cant even mention this to the 100s of members here every day - wierd
  2. https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/auctions/4-4LS9IJ/the-coin-cabinet-auction-54-british-world-coins-0-buyers-premium New Coin Cabinet Christmas auction launching today at 5pm - will probably be the first 2022 proof sovereigns to be offered at auction
  3. https://auctions.thecoincabinet.com/auctions/4-4LS9IJ/the-coin-cabinet-auction-54-british-world-coins-0-buyers-premium New Coin Cabinet Christmas auction launching today at 5pm - will probably be the first Gothic Crowns to be offered at auction
  4. If it helps if you have 1 Oz of gold it's more than Canada's got lol
  5. If budget allows an underpriced 2oz gold gothic crown, but think I will have missed the boat
  6. Just buy gold from day 1 would be my advice, having bought my first silver in mid 2000s bullionvault silver if you wanna chase the silver train, but make sure it's a sizable sum, so the vault fees don't sting you
  7. I smell something fishy, and I'm not talking about the contents of Baldrick's apple crumble
  8. This has happened to me first hand dealing with rare records, was open to abuse on feebay back then and still now. The old saying cash is king and buy in person for dear items won't get stung as a buyer This is whee grading has its place when it's a high four or five figure item
  9. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Royal-Mint-2021-Gothic-Crown-Quartered-Arms-2oz-Gold-Coin-Great-Engraver-039-s-/125046592473 Another 2oz gold 'milled edge' sold on feebay last night - x1 bid, at start price of £13k
  10. MBE.can.supply you with a mail box but you'll have a physical address
  11. For the prices involved risks assoicted.to.both buyer and seller alike and the relative small size of the uk (you shouldn't be more than a 5hour drive or train ride away for most folk) a deal in person would be a safer/best option? But that is not without its risks either. Have a large friend accompany you meetings in the right safe place, not your home. But inside a bank meeting room, at your safe deposit box address, a casinos bar/lounge area, at a hotel, at a coin fair.
  12. Ah right, never followed the thread last night as was out nursing my open wallet surgery from earlier in the week Great another forum member @BackyardBullion has jumped on the Gothic gold train - choo choo !!! its a better journey together. Might be a bargain price in years to come
  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185206793020 2oz gold 'milled edge' went last night on feebay, list price of £11k sold, sold via "best offer" so cant confirm exact price it went for
  14. Wouldn't make one bit of difference to me personally
  15. https://www.ha.com/c/search-results.zx?N=3184+792+4294942563+&Ntk=SI_Titles&Nty=1&Ntt=gothic&limitTo=all&ic5=CatalogHome-ActionArea-Search-071515 There are in total five different original silver Gothic Crowns in this Platinum Night sale in the USA in January, certainly not bad thing having this many sell so close to the recent release. Might be folk who would like to own the original and Queen Elizabeth II versions
  16. https://coins.ha.com/itm/great-britain/world-coins/victoria-proof-gothic-crown-1847-pr63-cameo-ngc-/p/3097-67009.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 There's an original Victoria Proof "Gothic" Crown 1847 PR63 Cameo NGC, KM744, S-3883, ESC-2578 (R2) rarer "Plain edge" In Heritage Auctions Platinum Night auction soon in New York in January 10th 2022 very soon to wet our whistles/follow. See if all the hype of the recent RM re-launch helps this one set a bench mark for current interest/prices This New York sale is also where the graded Una & Lion went for $10,000+, and speaking of Una, there is also an original PR64 £5 gold in the same sale/same day ! Another high six figure sale i'll wager https://coins.ha.com/itm/great-britain/world-coins/victoria-gold-proof-una-and-the-lion-5-pounds-1839-pr64-deep-cameo-pcgs-/p/3097-64001.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
  17. Found the sales - it was Heritage Auction USA 2020 August 5 - 7 World Coins & Ancient Coins Platinum Night Auction - Dallas #3085 / Lot #31690 So between release in Late November 2019 to August 2020 nothing too memorable happened with the 2oz silver Una and Lion market. It was after this sale and we saw graded PF70s making their big highs The interest/value in the 2oz gold Una & Lion has been helped massively i feel by the sheer lack of coins coming to market, for resale. The few that have sold have all been nice & slowly all kept creeping up each one surfaced
  18. Remember way back during early days of the first in the series Una & Lion, it took the 2oz graded PF70 silver to sell at the platinum night big auction, cant remember if it was Heritage or Stacks auction sale in the USA and it got bid up over $10,000+ then the rest is history after that, then everyone seems to want one and happy to bid them up to get one. The initial re-issue of the Una & Lion was lukewarm reception at best, wasn't an instant sell out , and could be easily purchased 20z silver raw from feebay in the month or so after release.
  19. Nice bike Dave. I'm back in retro mode of my youth, running a 1996 Cannondale on xt groupset and pace chainset and forks and for an xtr groupset orange AL elite
