  1. These days though the price movement seems to be on expectation not action, so price will likely move less after any rate cut than it does before
  2. Yea, has the box and COA as well Its just weight to me and bought on price alone to store money, will likely be for sale next time I need cash, if I remember I will tag you
  3. Todays arrivals, not bought from the forum
  4. Actually a better price that the 1/4oz on its own I suppose They have the 1/4oz at £750 Using the same gram price that makes the 1/10oz £300 and the 1/20oz £150 So £1200 total. Meh, still a massive con
  5. On a positive note I actually like the design this year, I will be sure to pick a 1/4oz proof up in a few months for about £450
  6. Related question - does anyone know what year they stopped doing 1/10oz proof Britannia on their own, maybe @Brit2023 or @BritStacker? Thanks
  7. I suspect someone called them as a chap put it on Facebook in one of the pm groups, I did try and pm you but could not get the message to select your name, looks like they were quick enough to avoid another royally screwed video this time 😆
  8. Yep its gone from the page with them all on too https://www.royalmint.com/britannia/commemorative/2024-britannia/ Only took them an hour I guess, thankfully took far longer on the 5g bars
  9. Has to be an error given the price on the 6 coin set which works out to £2662 an ounce (I think)
  10. Three coin set - 1/4, 1/10, 1/20 https://www.royalmint.com/britannia/commemorative/2024-britannia/2024-britannia-three-coin-gold-proof-set/ Works out to £5675 a TrOz @BackyardBullion
  11. I go a couple or three times a year, 50ish stalls I would say Not been to the London one for years but it used to be a lot bigger than the Birmingham one. I tend to get there early, go to the couple of sellers I know first to see what they have, then have a quick scan round the other stalls and I'm in MacDonald's having my breakfast by 10.30. I likely only bother as its only 20 minutes away for me @1stsovereign usually gets most of my cash, he goes to most of them and usually has a few nice shields up for grabs.
  12. 96 was the last Maklouf double, always though that odd
  13. There were 472 bullion minted, that had the fifth QEII portrait (Jody Clark) There were 3661 (1995 singles and 1666 in sets) of the proof, that was the one off (on sovereigns, it is on some other coins) James Butler portrait The 472 will have all been bought, and sold, and bought, and sold. I have seen coins on here I have sold come back up for sale, sell to someone who then also later put them up for sale and I have bought them back. More than once
  14. If you have an interest in a particular monarch or period it is often worth looking for auction catalogues for some of the signature auctions, or even just to pick up knowledge in general This is a link to Baldwins back catalogues to start you off https://www.baldwin.co.uk/auction-archive/ I would suggest starting with Auction 73, 76 & 79 which are the Bentley collection, few auction catalogues provide as much free information as this one, I liked it that much I actually bought all three parts of the catalogue in physical form. The best ones to download for a read are the named ones but I will just pick one at random sometimes, like a lucky dip. Can be hit and miss as they are not all coin auctions
  15. Winds my Mrs up to buggery when I call crumpets pikelets She is from Birmingham though so cant expect her to be too cultured
  16. I do it slightly differently, my current stack cost spot+10%, but given my stack is 50% shields and 10% graded I consider that to be OK, If I took profit from coins I have sold into consideration, I am way below spot on my current stack.
  17. Don't get me wrong, I am torn when I look at the price going silly, just makes me nervous about buying if something I really want comes up I will sit on my hands for a couple of weeks and wait to see where the expected dip takes us when it happens I think, or at least wait till it stabilises
  18. Not sure why anyone wants these prices, fine if you are looking to exit gold but surely a slow and steady rise should be what the majority of this forum wants Look what we face paying
  19. Placeholder for a pm sale with @Go65 1871 Shield Sovereign
  20. My last purchase before the big surge in spot arrived today Bought on the forum from @sterlingstacker, cheers
  21. Did he charge you to deliver it from the kitchen?
  22. Will have a poke around this morning see what I can find, might see if I can find that chart BYB did I am sure I remember him doing a comparison recently
  23. I notice with the price where it is Atkinsons seem to have pegged their buy price on a sovereign to be the same for any type. Previously, as recently as last week, they paid a premium on special reverse and young heads but today everything is £392.40 (which does not seem to change as spot varies). They are usually my dealer of choice to cash out below average sovereigns (yes I know that some places can offer more but I have been dealing with Atkinsons for a long time and they are down the road) The premium they charge has not changed of course
