For sure. I don't think they are particularly investment worthy right now but I've not seen any fakes as yet so if nothing else I see these as a safe buy at least.
End of the day I'm buying as a Bullion soverign and if it never gains a premium then no worries, if it does then it's a no lose bet.

These were a mix of jubilee, memorial and coronation. Maybe there is something I don't get but I see these as future classics and if i can buy these for the same price as a random scrap value coin I can't see any reason not to. Don't get me wrong I don't think they will double their money or anything but we are in a time where there are coins I think future collectors will be jizzing their pants over and people are letting it pass them by.
I don't get why anyone looking for soverigns would pass these up I'd only because people can't be arsed with the effort to make fakes

Per pcgs "there are 4 direct retailers of these coins, that the two largest have committed to donating between 6% and 12% of the gross sales price to the fireman/victims".
I think it's fair to say that people made a lot of money from these and I doubt pcgs did the grading free out of patriotic duty or respect for the victims, i also dont think resellers are doing anything but trousering the profit.
Im not a communist and dont mind people making money but plastering the flag on this, donating an insignificant portion of the profits and pretending this is some patriotic statement is hypocrital and morrally wrong. if everything was done for free and these were a genuine fundraiser I think that would have been a fantastic thing and a great opportunity to really help people but they are just not that.
I agree that we should learn from he past and not forget history however I'm not sure it's really necessary to do it this way. I doubt it would go down well if pcgs were to verify gold teeth found in the aftermath of the holocaust, stick a star of David on the label and donate 6% to a survivors charity and I dont really see this as much different. Sadly I'm sure there are plenty who would actually do this if they thought they could get away with it and I'm equally sure there would be buyers.
I don't mean this as a dig at buyers or collectors (of the wtc coins not the teeth, if you want those you should be on a register somewhere), I can see why they would want these as interesting pieces for the collection. My issue is with people profiteering from what happened.
I put this up there with those people making keyring etc. from russian tanks in Ukraine and selling them to people who think somehow they are helping or supporting Ukraine whilst being blind to the fact people died to get your silly trinket.

Considering how patriotic the average American is you would think profiteering from 9/11 would be a lynching offence, shameless really.
Given there's no numismatic value to the coins I'd put this up there with someone trying to sell a singed fiver from Greenfell for a profit.

It's like some of the shipwreck coins. Some history attached, but the coins themselves don't tell the story (as in the design, mint marks, etc), and without the certificates they're indistinguishable from their generic peer.
Shipwreck silver can have a lot of environmental damage, though. I've seen dealers inflating value on Duoro sovereigns, but in reality the Duoro sovereigns are quite many, when they went into the market prices took a hit.
Quite, because in this case it is the certificate/holder/label being collected, not the coins themselves

I've noticed prices sneaking up on these, I think they are starting to be appreciated now and may well end up being a very desirable collection...at least I hope so seeing as I'm collecting them.

I just can't imagine why anybody would have bought that in the first place, must have cost a fortune with mint premiums.  And I thought I was flushing money down the toilet with my 1oz silver tudor beasts!
