That would be the same thing as going to security at airport right, for example she puts silver coins in her hand luggage. Goes through security x-ray etc. If they don't catch, then you go on your way. Either way is that classed as smuggling? Or is that classed as your currency as I'm sure i've taken £1 coins through barrier before?

    Holiday in America

Hi all, Hope you are all well. So my friend is going on holiday to Texas in the US soon, is there any point of me asking her to bring back a couple of tubes of Britannia's or other silver coins? Will she get into trouble at airport or will have to pay tax once arrived in UK? Obviously the reason I ask is to get cheaper silver compared to UK. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
  6. well that 2 oz sold out fast, guess it was a good buy. Missed it whiles checking out.
  7. Is this new coin? The Britannia 2021 Two-ounce Silver proof coin Mintage of 250 seems low no? Any thoughts? Thanks
  8. Congrates to both winners. I need to remember to participate, got to be in it to win it .
  9. Is it a good idea to confirm coa number? If so what was the number you received?
  10. Also note before sending them back, I confirmed who was liable if products were returned. Me or the royal mail, they said as soon as I give the parcel to royal mail post office and got a proof of sending it back then the liability is with the royal mail. Any problems they will speak to Royal Mail. This was me using the return label they sent me via email and also the slip in the original parcel.
  11. I chased them up and they said they will refund the postage too. So will be worth giving them a call if you want the £9.
  12. did you get your postage refunded as they couldn't even get that right for me. Really disappointing but I am really missing these coins in my hands, lol.
  13. Anyone else reckon its not going to be only this year that they will be releasing the completer coin as bullion? I got a feeling they wil continue this queens beast version for years to come. 2022 completer and so on, or do you think they will stop after this year?
  14. Thanks for this comment, Im still learning about PM and yes I have been living under a rock for 20 years it would seem, . I didn't know of milk spotting until a month after I started this year. However I have come to accept them on bullion products as they are relatively cheap compared to proof coins, I then realised it was the norm to recieve milk spotted products from a fresh tube. To me I thought with anything when buying brand new I would get a pristine condition product, little did I know this was not the case. Anyhow at a small expense compared to proof coins, I can now near enough accept it but not happy about it. For proof coins I thought they would be in mint condition, prime condition, the creme de la creme of silver coins. Is this not the case and I should accept milk spots and little blemishes on day one? (The fibres didn't really concern me for some reason, probably because they were not part of the coin) I understand milk spots might build up overtime and the coin would deteriorate over time, but to expect that on day one of owning a proof coin is abit of a ask for me. Is my expectation too high for this? Greatful for everyones insights on this, good or bad. 👍 Thanks
  15. Thought I add to this aswell after being let down, after being so excited to received this set, a smile so big it reminded me of recieving my first car. First proof coins purchased and was so excited to be amongst the lucky 300 to own this set to enjoy for years to come. Stunning amazing beautiful looking coins when viewing at different angles. However I got brought straight down to earth, I did think about keeping it and just enjoying it with milk spots and blemeishes but slept on it and it bugged me the more I looked and thought about it and just wondered its only going to get worse. So decided to wipe my hands clean of it, learnt a lesson and be done with it. From happiness, to denial, to anger, to saddness and now acceptance. Thanks for the emotions and memories.
  16. I was offered these options too. I went with option d . The coins are beautiful though which is why I am having second thoughts, lol.
  17. Yeah I found that the capsules weren't on properly on most of the coins too. Box is in pristine condition though. 😭
  18. Yeah, Im thinking to just get the refund, its taken a shine off things tbh. Greatful for this experience though so hopefully saves me a few bob in the future.
  19. They have said, send them back and it will go through quality control etc and if they feel the standards are not to their standards they will do a restrike? The lady said that means they will recreate the coins from new? Is that correct? Cant imagine they would go all the effect for one set? Still undecided whether to send them back for quality control or get a refund. Feels like hassle so refund might be the way forward.
  20. Spoke to RM and they said they will see if they can get a replacement for me? Will let you know how I get on...
  21. If they arrange collection, doesn't it mean its out of my hands and they are responsible for it? Also doesn't cost you more money for sending it back? Or are you saying you can claim back postage you paid to send and also the new SD for returning? Ill give them a buzz before I do anything
  22. thanks, honestly that is very comforting to hear right now.
  23. Many thanks, the number i got from google is 0800 032 2152. Im hoping they collect the parcel. I guess proof coins/sets are not all they are cranked up to be?
  24. Might have too, How many days is the return window? What is their return service like? Do they collect or expect you to send and pay for it etc?
