Nice batch of shields arrived today from @SVcollector all the way from Greece, slightly delayed by the bank holiday but well worth the wait (as Chris's coins always are)

I mean, honestly. This is just so bloody bad.
These coins you can literally buy by the kilo. They need 100 for this collection.
They couldn't find a better picture?

They are taking this more seriously now. I hope for more information to share around historics soon enough.
I have a meeting with my MP scheduled for late April!

Over the years I’ve never really liked IRBs QEII obverse, but recently have realised that given the right lighting, her details show enormous dignity, as in your 1999 Brit.
Attached is a study of the Queen which has helped me to change my view….

Hi All
I'm slowly planning a box for my QB set. I can't buy a ready-made box, I came up with another way, having access to a 3D printer
I bought a box on ebay and now I'm trying to make an insert for QB using a 3D printer.
Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to how much material there was on the roll 🙈
Yes, I know, it's not perfect, but it's only half of what it was supposed to be, I'm waiting for the next print
The best thing is that such an insert can be adapted to any box and made of many materials, plastic, rubber, etc., different colors and finishes.
what do you think ?
- I'm still looking for the last coin for the set (1/4oz Griffin), someone wrote to me that he had to check if he had it, so maybe I'll have the whole set soon

GBStacking got a reaction from Petra in Investigation into Historic Coin Pricing by The Royal Mint
I read that as we agree the Victoria Young Head Crown picture is rubbish, so we will probably update it.
The rest seems to be a vague attempt to still justify excessively high prices. Slightly bizarrely, they make a point about sourcing in volume, typically this results in a cheaper price per unit rather than more expensive.
I quite agree with the part about their pricing model being quite different to other dealers, dealers without the clout of the Royal Mint brand would probably fold if they tried to sell their coins for similar prices.
The rest of the waffle about checking condition\rarity etc sounds very much like what every specialist coin dealer does as part of their own business model. Definitely not seeing anything this statement that sets the royal mint apart, with the exception of they generally present stuff in a fancier box.
