TSF is a great place to read and learn
I see you've already got Silver Membership so you're one of the smart ones!
Buying on TSF you can pick up amazing gold at spot or close to it. If you can save a few % when buying on TSF vs traditional dealer prices, you're already one step ahead
Silver might also be worth considering but don't tell anyone I said that - despite being The SILVER Forum, gold is a lot more popular with the regulars than silver 🤷‍♂️
Best of luck sir with your stacking journey and may it bring you the same joy it's brought to most of us 🙏💪💪

The pretty pictures do it for me
Some of the world gold and historical items can speak to your inner soul and thus are more important than money. The thing with world gold is if it's not CGT-exempt then the premiums on those items have to rise 20% faster than the premiums on CGT-exempt gold (like Britannias, sovereigns, QBs, anything with a face value like £10, £100, etc) to justify their purchase if you are planning on holding for 10 years +
For investments you're doing the right thing - buy CGT-exempt products in the UK and give 2 fingers to HMRC
Your timescale might need to be revised though. It's probably better to buy weekly, fortnightly or monthly than every 3 or 4 months. The more frequently you buy the more it smooths out the peaks and troughs in metal prices (DCA - Dollar Cost Averaging).
It's worth paying attention to seasonality. Metal prices traditionally are cheaper in the summer months (June-early September) than they are the rest of the year. Interest rates and geopolitics can also have heavy influence on metal prices so perhaps the best time to buy in the near future is this summer before the Fed/BoE cut interest rates and before WWIII kicks off, ideally
(Not investment advice, please assimilate as many separate and independent sources as you possibly can and come to your own conclusions)

    🇺🇸 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Gold Token – 1/2 DWT 1909 – NGC MS63 – £290 Posted – UK
An excellent example of this rare piece of American exonumia.
Slabbed and graded by NGC at MS63.
Struck from Alaskan gold and privately issued by M.E. Hart Co. of San Francisco for sale at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition world fair held in Seattle in 1909.
The 1/2 DWT piece for sale here weighs approximately 0.775 grams and is comprised of 10 carat (.4167) gold.
The 1 DWT ($1) could be bought at the event as part of a set containing 1/2 DWT ($0.50) and 1/4 DWT ($0.25) tokens for a total price of $2.50.
The obverse boasts a prospector miner holding a pick over his right shoulder with a spade and pan in the background.
The reverse features a lovely open wreath around a shield dividing the 1 DWT denomination.
    A superb piece!
Price is £290 including fully-insured delivery to anywhere in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Payment via bank transfer to UK business bank account.

A sublime example for this type and variety. Sharply struck, borderline proof-like, and most deserving of the gem uncirculated grade (MS65) assigned by NGC.
Only seven in MS65 and four finer which reside in MS65+ and MS66 respectively, the latter of which marks top population for the type and variety and the only one to be auctioned achieving $2,160 USD (circa £1,700 GBP).

You've had some good advice above and I agree with pretty much all of it.
The whole concept of there being bargains when spot rises combined with some stuff being hard to sell can be confusing but its important to note that - generally - in any moving market there are always ways to exploit things. The premium suddenly falling out of a lot of coins as stated above is the best example of that when gold spot price rises. If there are certain coins you are after that have a high premium now can be a good time to pick those up as there is usually a fair amount of lag between spot going up and those premiums rising to match the increase.
As for storage there are no end of options and there have been some good topics on this forum about it as well as some decent YouTube vids - well worth searching both the forum and YouTube. When talking about storing items at a place of residence I think its always worth keeping in mind the risk levels attached to your lifestyle. Do you live in shared housing of any type of decription? What is crime like in the area? Do any other people know that you buy and hold PMs? All of these things (and much more) will dictate risk and whether or not you should be storing anything at home.
To buck the opinion of the folks above I will say that I don't personally think safes are good ideas. The only time I would consider a safe would be as a decoy though I don't even have that since I do my best not to store anything at home. A safe to me represents an opportunistic quick grab for a would be burglar. If its somehow secured and not able to be removed by an opportunistic intruder it could be noted if found so then there's the risk of someone or multiples returning looking for a potential high value score. I just think they make an easy target more than they provide any real benefit.
If you get creative there are no end of safe places in any residence where you could squirrel things away. If you do go down that route though make sure you have a mechanism for letting someone know in the event anything happens to you.

    Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while. Here I have a wonderful 1805 Portuguese half escudos gold coin, it appears to be a metal detector find. With a mintage of only 3278 its a pretty rare coin. This type of coin commands strong prices. If this doesn't sell over the weekend I will be sending to NGC for conservation and grading. This is also an opportunity for a potential buyer as well. This coin weighs 1.84 grams which is over the true weight of the coin due to the debris included on the coin from the removal of the ground. References KM# 337 & Gomes# JR 28. The link below is to show of the value of the coin I have for sale.

    Hi All,
I'm on the lookout for a reasonably priced 2 Escudo coin around the Carlos III or Carlos IV era. I've seen a few on various sites, but I thought I'd check and see if any of you fine folks have any available.
    TIA

Having items you wanted is good, keeps a strong interest. But I've learned over the years that when prices are high, it doesn't matter if QEII or daffy duck is on the coin. So good to have a pile of generic fast selling items. ( low premium in- low premium out )
