I forgot to mention in my last post that TSF will be giving away 2x 1oz silver coins as an additional bonus prize. For everyone who enters there will be a final draw at the end and one of the entrants will win both silver coins as a bonus

I will discuss with @trp and get back to everyone It can be a lot of work, especially if things go wrong, which is also one reason why we limited it to Premium Members. TSF also substituted prizes last year as at least one member had became sick and wasn't able to sent out a prize, and another one due to an administrative error when allocating the tickets, so there are costs for TSF to run the draw (which I do not mind, just not everyone is aware of) Unfortunately also got a lot of flak from at least one non Premium Member for making it Premium Members only, though members are free to just upgrade their account for the month or so to enter. I will speak with TRP, hopefully we are able to do something this year as it is a lot of fun for everyone

Some U.K. members also exclusively invest in / collect gold. Particularly gold sovereigns, for the reason you have mentioned here.

Slightly exaggerating, but imagine you had £500,000 or even £1million of silver and needed to cash out asap to invest into another project. A dealer (depending on which one) will likely be able to provide that amount of liquidity. Even items that are only £10’s of thousands may move much easier and quicker through a dealer. It’s also much easier, but the trade off is lower prices. Those who have the time and willingness to sell their items directly and who want the best prices may find it better to list on the forum. There is also eBay like you have mentioned and auction houses, all different routes available for people each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Haven’t read all the posts in this topic but seems to have settled down now. So hopefully no intervention is needed from the Moderation team. Thank you for all the members who debate respectfully and keep TSF a friendly place, and for those who try to de-escalate rather then escalate confrontation.
