Consider if the shoe was on the other foot. Would you buy precious metals from somebody you didn't know, who has zero sales history, and give them money via bank transfer or PayPal Family & Friends (which doesn't cover you for trades gone sideways)? 

Don't take it the wrong way. @James32 is pretty much the forum daddy so if he vouches for someone they are legit

As long as you are dealing with an established member like @oddball or getting vouches from the forum daddy, you are 100% safe. Your buyers don't have the same guarantees, so, please don't get offended if people ask you to ship first. Do make sure you only deal with established members though if you are shipping first and getting payment on receipt

I was more concerned about only being a forum member for 2 months.  low feedback with a couple of years membership, wouldnt really be an issue. maybe best to sell in smaller lots.  i would risk for 50 quid or so, on someone with 0 fb.  just not interested in 1s and 2s. that would get your feedback up also.

Well anyone could do that.

New members with throwaway accounts have the biggest potential to scam. They have no reputation to lose.

Mitigate risk however you see fit, whether that's with new members or not.
