Artificial yes, intelligent no.

I have had a few chats where GTP has admitted to contradicting itself, at this stage it seems like a scam, more like a glorified search engine.

That's how it appears to be, plus it is tainted with bias of various agendas, too many to count anymore..

Whilst it may have bias, it is capable of pretty reasonable coding.

I asked ChatGPT to write me code in C to “sniff” packets on a host. The result was compilable.  I suspect not all code would be perfect, but it will be revolutionary in terms of coding I believe.

Living in the USA and never having traveled to the UK, I was unaware that the BoE notes contained that language.  I found this on the BoE website and it blew my mind:

Quote

...
What does the 'promise to pay' on bank notes mean?

The words ‘I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of five/ten/twenty/fifty pounds’ appear on all of our notes. This phrase dates from long ago when our notes represented deposits of gold. At that time, a member of the public could exchange one of our banknotes for gold of the same value. For example, a £5 note could be exchanged for five gold coins, called sovereigns.

However, the value of the pound has not been linked to gold for many years, so the meaning of the promise to pay has changed. You can no longer exchange banknotes for gold. You can only exchange them for other Bank of England banknotes of the same face value.

Ha ha, exactly, now they pretend that the promise is meant to cover replacement for wear and tear.

Like the 'lifetime' guarantee on some UK supermarket shopping bags.

They really take us for fools...😒
