‘For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 50 PENCE ·” and the date of the year, 

 

and for the reverse either:

(a) a depiction of a Tyrannosaurus Rex with the inscription “TYRANNOSAURUS CRETACEOUS”; or

 

(b) a depiction of a Stegosaurus with the inscription “STEGOSAURUS JURASSIC”; or

 

(c) a depiction of a Diplodocus with the inscription “DIPLODOCUS JURASSIC”; or

 

The coin shall have a grained edge.’

Tyrannosaurus Rex is going to be went for sale on 7th of December, but not only 50p in 3 variants (silver, colour silver and gold), but also 1oz Silver and 1/4oz gold.

Unusually, the silver proof 50p is available in both coloured and uncoloured versions. The latter has an edition limit of only 500 (mintage 510) which is very low!

I was hoping these would be released in 1oz bullion form, as opposed to proof. A shame, still saves me spending money I suppose!

I like 50ps but there needs to be a push to get more commemoratives into circulation as it encourages people to collect.  Almost all of my transactions now are contactless  and I don't see anywhere as much change as I did only a few years ago  so I suppose I'm to blame for not using cash. 

The RM as a business must be in free fall, they are having their Kodak Moment where the thing they produce is practically obsolete.
