I have a misaligned 2022 memorial sovereign issue

And mine — are they ALL like that?!?

I bought another bullion 2022 memorial last week and it seems fine regarding all degrees left of wonky. My friend buys too from the same source and she has three wonkies out of seven bought this year or thereabouts. I've decided to think of it as nothing more than a curio. They are lovely coins, even if Charles sometimes has a fixation on the heavens. :)

I will have to label them as wonkies though. I don't want to lose out if they're worth a bit more money because of it in years to come.

“Wonkies” hey? Can you copyright that? I can’t say I noticed it listed as a choice of NGC grading labels.

Okay so we know that this is happening with both the proof and bullion versions.

I wonder how many have this misalignment wonkiness.

I might be compelled to reach out to the Royal Mint and see what they have to say. It certainly hasn’t happened in  recent years as far as I’m aware.

Agreed - from what I have seen.  Lots of people who are familiar with Sovs flip them over (obv to rev) so I would think it would have been noticed if it had happened before.

Having read this I decided to check, I have the 3 coin proof set and they are all off, to my untrained eye they all seem to be different degrees! i found it easier to check from the shield first as that is easier to judge as vertical.

I try to buy gold with my head and silver with my heart, sometimes..........I just get it wrong!
