closed A chance to own a 2018 1 oz Bullion Gold Britannia - with a trade up, as opposed to buy outright ?

Hi all,

Have been debating whether to sell my 2018 1oz Bullion Gold Brit for a while - has been great having the chance to own one, but if I'm brutally honest, it doesn't fit in the stack that well (being one big chunk of Au...)

So... had the idea of giving someone else the chance to acquire one with a bit of a trade-up - as opposed to buying outright - which is how I got this beauty from a Forum Business Member. And it also gives me some funds and some PM's, which can't be bad 😊.

I'm confident of the providence of the coin as it came from a well respected Forum Business Member.

Right, here's my thought:

2 x Sovereigns or similar and some cash to make up to full value? or maybe a Sov and some Bullion Silver + cash...?

Just to give a guide - I'd be ideally looking for half cash and half PM's, would prefer RM coins, and wouldn't rule out some 1/10, 1/4 Gold brits or a 1/2 Gold brit either. Silver Brits too? - To give you an idea, I traded this up originally for some 1/10th gold brits, some 1oz silver brits and some cash...

Someone just messaged and mentioned I hadn't said what types of Sovereigns I'd be interested in - Oops! 🤦 - I'd prefer '57 or newer please, so QEII - they would just fit my stack better - hope that helps!

You get the idea, right? 😁

OK - let's see how this goes - and if it falls completely flat, I'll withdraw and go back to the drawing board.

And to (hopefully) satisfy the conditions of sales posts, the value I'm aiming to get for my Gold Brit is £1575.
(If what I'm proposing isn't allowed by Forum Rules, my apologies to the Mods - let me know and I'll remove immediately)

Don’t be frightened to make an offer - I don’t bite! 😁

Whatcha got...? 🤔

Thanks @dicker 😁

I realise that there are the Whales on here who can buy 2 or 3 1oz Gold coins without a second thought - but there's a lot of us 'lesser Mortals' who can only dream of a 1oz, as I did for ages!  🤭

I was lucky enough to be able to source my coin in a similar manner from the Forum (don't want to mention the member in case they don't want to be known - but they are a Business Member) and thought it would be a good idea to offer someone who wouldn't have the cash amount in one go a chance to own a 1oz beauty ☺️

It would be good to indicate how much cash with two Sovereign you are looking for. Will save a lot of unwanted PM

Good point @Spyder - I’m hoping for around 50% coins and 50% cash, so approx £790 for each?

Hope that helps,
Bob

Thanks to all the members who have messaged with offers so far - still open to more offers, and I would like to let the post go for a couple more days at least, to give non premium members a chance… Unless I get an offer I simply can’t refuse 😉

If anyone who’s made an offer so far wants to withdraw it due to me deciding to leave the post up for a couple more days, just let me know.

There’s a couple of quite tempting ones there already, so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to complete the deal fairly quickly after non premium members have had a chance to submit an offer or two 😁

Thanks for your patience,
Bob

Fair point though - it may be a little optimistic that a Newer member would already have some PM’s and enough spare cash for a 1oz Gold Brit (no offence to any new members who have! 😲)

So with that in mind, I’ve contacted the providers of the ‘interesting’ offers to see if we can thrash out a deal ☺️👍

I always say strike when the iron's hot. Market could be at zero tomorrow 😆

I like to buy the pre-dip dip
