Hello my knowledgable motley crew,

little help if you please.

My son wants to sell his birth sovereign probably to buy an electronic game because he’s a student. I am just starting out in collecting and Google has brought some wild pricing and want to offer him best advice.

What I know.

2002 Proof untouched in a box with complete booklet Set.

Golden Jubilee.

Picture attached.

Many thanks.

I'm going to say £650-700?

(That's not an offer BTW, I already have one 😊)

I could be low, but this is TSF!

I'd advise your son to not sell his coin. It will always be in demand as a special year reverse whereas the game will be in the bin within the year 😎

Tell him it's worth £350, buy it off him. Put it aside for a good memory when time's gone by. I wish i held onto some things like this from my childhood.

Being slightly pedantic, 1 coin does not constitute a set!

But good luck with the sale.

Appreciate the replies and have left it with the wisdom of youth.

bottom line, I said if you really want the money-sell it or put it back in your wardrobe.
