There is/was a coin shop in that part of London which I think was called Coin Heritage, also known as Philip Cohen Numismatics or something similar.  I browsed in there a few times.  He used to have some really nice modern gold proof sets, some older gold coins including sovereigns and guineas, and some decent predecimal stock.  So if it was that dealer, he is completely reputable in my opinion.

Back when I was browsing there (circa 2014-16) I hadn't yet really immersed myself in the world of precious metals.  That's a shame, because I remember that the dealer had a 1989 proof sovereign 3 or 4 coin set (think it was the 3 coin set but I cannot fully remember) at what was very reasonable money back then, and which would be an absolute bargain now.

I do remember Philip Cohen, but I would never have remembered he was near Charing Cross Road, and my recollection was that he was an OK dealer.

Ah, yes!  He has a basement shop below 'Colin Narbeth' - a banknote dealer in Cecil Court, an alley way off Charing X Rd. Just remembered, and  I have bought sovereigns from him a while back. Any more suspects?😁

No, I would have been more vocal if it has been Malcolm Bord's "Gold Coin Exchange". Well done for your awareness.

I only discovered his copyright abuse because a customer asked us to check a number of gold sovereign parcels he had bought there.

There were some fakes, some substandard, and at least one or two foreign items, which I also reported on.

He threatened to sue us for defamation, but failed to go ahead with his threat, for obvious reasons.
